"I'm officer Judy Hopps of the ZPD, I need your help! My partner is in trouble!" Judy shouted up at the front desk, receiving no reply. She had definitely seen someone at the desk when she was up in Johnny's arm, so why was no one talking to her? "Excuse me! Hello??" When she once again received no reply she sighed and jumped, catching herself on the edge of the desk, her legs dangling down. A rhino sat at the desk, reading a newspaper.

"Judy Hopps, officer at the ZPD, I require assistance!" She yelled, her grip slipping slightly. The rhino glanced at her, huffed, then looked back down at the paper. "Why are you ignoring me? This is an emergency!" Judy said in anger and disbelief. The officer looked up again and snorted, slapping the paper down harshly and standing up. "Listen, no little bunny has ever been a cop, and I don't see a badge. If you wanted to prank the cops, you know the number, so don't come in and waste my time." The rhino bellowed, removing Judy's paws from the table and letting her fall.

She was agile enough to land on her feet, and the drop wasn't that far anyway. The door chimed and she could feel the floor vibrate from the stomping footsteps. She glanced over her shoulder, then looked up, to see Johnny towering over her. She stepped to the side to get out of his way as he slammed his fists on the desk. "That wasn't cool, man. I saw what you did from the window." He said with a hint of anger. His body language gave off more anger than his actual voice, however.

"Apologize to her, or I'm reporting you." He warned. The cop chuckled. "Someone else wasting my time? Look, pal. I don't know what you mean." The rhino said with a shrug, smiling. Judy tugged on Johnny's pant leg. "Just leave it." She sighed. He glanced down at her with a gentle, kind expression. "Yeah, alright." He said passively. He turned and motioned to the door, and the two began walking out. Johnny held the door for her again, and took the time while she wasn't looking to glare at the cop and shake his head.

Judy sat on the curb and tugged on her ears. "What am I going to do now..?" She sighed. "What did you need the cops for?" Johnny asked, sitting beside her but being courteous and maintaining distance. She glanced up at him. He was just a civilian, she couldn't just ask him to help her get Nick back from a bunch of dangerous thugs. She felt a sense of powerlessness that she hadn't felt in a long time.

"My friend... is in trouble. There were too many animals for me to fight on my own... it's all my fault if something were to happen.." she stammered, barely able to keep herself pulled together. Johnny seemed concerned, and patted her on the back with a finger before apologizing for doing so without permission. "I... I can probably help. I want to help."

At this point Judy didn't care anymore. She stood up quickly and met his worried gaze. "Alright, but if it gets too dangerous you have to escape." Johnny almost laughed at her words but stifled it. "I promise." He said while standing up. "Then there's no time to lose! Thank you." Judy said sincerely. Johnny nodded and knelt down, extending his hand to her.

She grumbled slightly but crawled on, holding tight as she was lifted up. And then up some more. "Uh, what are you doing?" She asked cautiously. "I can run better with both arms free. I know it's weird, but you can sit up in my shoulder." She sat on his shoulder and instantly looked for any thing to hold on to as he suddenly broke off into a run. She grabbed hold of his ear, startled, before grabbing the collar of his jacket instead.

He chuckled and apologized again. Judy noticed he seemed really polite, maybe overly polite but it was better than the rude cop, she thought. She was also surprised that Johnny stood up for her, it was a nice feeling. At least she wasn't completly alone in this.

In a short time Judy recognized the area and pointed to the gloomy street. "Down there!" She yelled, barely able to hear herself from the wind in her face. Johnny slowed down and glanced around, catching his breath. He walked down the dimly lit road until arriving upon the yellow cab, still parked where it had been. "Oh! My stuff is in that trunk!" She exclaimed, pointing at the car.

Johnny followed where she was pointing, and walked to the cab, setting her down on the vehicle's roof. "The trunk, you said? He asked, gently pulling on the handle. She nodded, taking notice that it was locked. A quick glance around told her that not even the pigs that were guarding the outside were there anymore. Everything seemed deserted. Suddenly, there was a loud crunching sound, followed by the car's alarm. Judy's head shot back to Johnny, who had taken a step back, skaking his hands a bit. The trunk was crushed in, two large dents battered the yellow painted metal. The trunk had popped open, revealing both Judy's and Nick's luggage.

"Yes!" She exclaimed. The doors of the building suddenly burst open, pigs rushing out with their sights set upon Johnny, who had already grabbed Judy and hid her in the trunk, out of view. He began going to blows with the two pigs, while Judy was still sitting in between the suitcases, shocked. When she finally got her head back in the game, it was silent except for Johnny's heavy breathing. She jumped out and looked at the two pigs unconscious on the ground. He glanced over at her, and quickly knelt down, seeming to check on her.

"Are you alright?" He asked frantically. Judy was aghast, shocked and surprised. "How could you ask me that, Johnny? You were the one who was fighting!" She exclaimed. Johnny shrugged. "Well, I wanted to make sure you weren't hurt." He mumbled. Judy shook her head. "I can take care of myself, you know. I'm a cop." She held up her badge that she had dug out of her suitcase, and Johnny looked at it, eyes widening. "You're... a... a cop?" Judy took notice that his question wasn't in a tone of mockery, but some kind of disbelief.

"Yeah, I am. Bunnies can be cops too!" Johnny did not seemed to be phased by how unintentionally harsh her words came out, he just stared at her with this blank, or maybe nervous, look. Judy waved her paw infront of him, snapping him out of it. "Johnny, what's wrong?" She asked, ears drooping. "I'm sorry if what I said came out as rude... I've just had a lot of animals who think I can't be a cop because of my species." She mumbled sadly.

Johnny put his hands up and shook his head frantically. "No, it's not that, I believe you! And I know you are probably an excellent cop!.. But let's not worry about that now. We have to save your friend, right?" He said quickly, rubbing the back of his head and looking away at the building with an awkward laugh. Judy knew he was right, and she was just getting worked up, but she couldn't help but feel like he was changing the subject.

She shook her thoughts away. Only one thing mattered, and that was getting Nick back safely.
