Nick wiggled his arms, but the rope around his wrists were bound tightly. He struggled, trying to get the muzzle off, but once again to no avail. "Hurry, carrots..." he sighed, feeling his anxiety welling up in his chest. He dug his nails into the metal arms of the chair repeatedly, ears constantly up listing for any other sound than himself. He was beginning to lose hope when he suddenly heard loud banging and noises just outside the room.
They sounded like something really big. It couldn't be Judy unless she got some help. "Judy! In here!" He shouted hopefully, leaning back and forth in the chair to make as much noise as possible. He watched the doorhandle jiggle, and then it stopped. Eveything was silent again until a moment later the metal door began to get bashed in, huge dents appearing until the door caved in and a massive figure walked in.
"Ohh... you aren't Judy..." Nick gulped, taking notice that this individual wasn't wearing any type of police uniform either. Judy suddenly appeared beside the figure, and rushed over to Nick. "Are you alright Nick??" She asked worriedly, taking the muzzle off first, knowing how much he hated them.
"Carrots, would you please enlighten me as to who that is? Where did you find him?" Nick whispered hastily, not taking his eyes off of the figure once. "His name is Johnny, and he's super sweet!" Judy gushed, smiling and looking up at this so-called Johnny in endearment. Nick slowly turned his head to look at her, jaw dropped. Johnny stepped foreward into the light, waving at Nick before suddenly turing around where a pig had gotten back up.
Nick had to look away while Johnny pummeled the pig out in the hallway. Judy finished cutting the ropes and Nick stood up. "Judy, where did you find this guy? Seriously." He asked, rubbing his wrist. Judy took a moment, obviously backtracking. "Well, I went running to find some help-" Nick covered her mouth, sighing. "Let's just go, ok? I don't want my face pounded flat thank you very much." Nick said matter-of-factly.
Judy pushed his paw away. "He wont hurt you, don't be like that!"
Judy said in an offended tone. Nick was about to argue when Johnny came back into the room. "I think I've taken care of them all now, Judy." The gorilla said with a smile, his chest heaving as he breathed heavily. Nick locked eyes with Johnny, and tried to not show that he was ever so slightly intimidated."Uh... thanks for saving my hide, Johnny was it?" Judy huffed, hearing the attitude in Nick's voice and walked over to Johnny, who had nodded at Nick. "It was no problem, er.." he glanced down at Judy for help, who smiled. "Nick." She whispered, glancing at her partner. Johnny nodded and knelt down, extending his hand to Nick. "Its nice to meet you, Nick. I'm glad you're alright." Johnny said with a polite smile. Nick stared at the large hand and reluctantly held his paw out, Johnny's hand complety engulfing it as he shook it very gently.
The three walked out, carefully stepping over and around the unconcious thugs. "Should we call the cops on these guys?" Nick asked, looking around. Judy pouted. "Yeah, I'm not going back to that police station again." When they arrived outside Johnny took both suitcases out of the trunk. "Did you two need to find a place to stay?" Nick grumbled and was about to turn down the gorilla's offer, but Judy beat him to the punch. "Yes! Did you know a place?" Nick rolled his eyes, frowning. As Johnny nodded. "Yeah, follow me. I'll walk slow."
The three walked again for a while, when Nick suddenly thought of something, pulling Judy aside, Johnny still waking unknowingly. "Carrots, aren't you being to friendly with him?" He whispered. Judy tilted her head, confused. "Come on, Nick! Why are you in such a bad mood tonight? I know you were being held hostage and all, but he help me to get you out of there! You aren't being fair to him." She scolded. Nick shrugged, but his face remained stern. "Well, maybe I'm blowing things out of proportion, but he's a gorilla is he not? We're here for a gang of gorillas, Judy. Remember?" Nick leaned in, pointing to Johnny. "Hes got a leather jacket too."
"What does that have to do with anything?!? Judy shouted, drawing Johnny's attention. "Is something wrong?" He asked in concern, beginning to walk over. Nick shot him a glare. "Stay out of it! Our talk doesn't concern you." Johnny made a face, and then backed up, sitting on the curb a good distance away.
Judy gave Nick a small shove. "What has gotten into you tonight? You're acting really strange. If you don't get it together then I'll finish this mission on my own and you can go home." She snapped, pushing past him and walking over to Johnny. Nick grumbled and tagged along, putting his paws in his pockets.
He he reached the others he grabbed his suitcase that was sitting by Johnny's side. "Let's go." He scoffed. Judy sighed and patted Johnny on the leg before he stood up. The three walked in silence again until they reached a hotel. Johnny gave Judy her suitcase and waved before turning and walking down the street, shoulders slumped. Nick wasted no time going to the door only to realize how hard it was to open.
"Ugh, what the heck is with these doors?" He grumbled. He held the handle and jumped up, pushing on the rim of the door with his feet and pulling, trying to open the door. "Judy, give me hand will ya?" Nick sighed when the door still didn't budge. When he got no reply he looked back to see only Judy's unattended suitcase. His ears perked up in shock and he looked around, soon spotting her down the sidewalk talking to Johnny.
Moments later she came skipping back with Johnny in tow. Nick let go of the door and backed up as Johnny approached and opened the door. "Thanks again Johnny!" Judy trilled, grabbing her suitcase and walking in. Johnny looked at Nick. "You can go on in." Johnny motioned to the inside of the building. Nick reluctantly walked in, and was perturbed when Johnny walked in too.
He was about to tell the gorilla to go away but Johnny was fast and had already caught up to Judy, picking her up so she could see the counter. Nick sulked while they talked, digging the file out of his suitcase and looking it over, constantly looking up to stare down Johnny.
"These two have trouble with some of the doors here, ma'am." Johnny said to the kangaroo at the front desk. "Sure thing sweety. We'll get them a room that's more accessible." Judy looked up at Johnny and smiled. "Thanks a bunch, Johnny." He returned the smile, chuckling a bit. "No problem." Judy loved how musical his laugh was. It made her smile more to the point her cheeks hurt.
Once he had finished helping her out again he set her down. "Well, have a good evening, Judy. Maybe I'll see you around sometime." Judy perked up. "Why don't you give me your number? Then we can stay in touch!" she suggested. Johnny's face fell a bit. "Oh, I don't have a phone... uh. I mean I did! But it broke." He said quickly fiddling with his jacket. Judy's ears drooped. "Oh, well that's too bad." She sighed.
Nick suddenly butted in. "Well, Johnny, thanks for all your help today. We both appreciate it. It's rude for us to be keeping you out so late." Johnny stood up, flustered. "Y-yeah, it is... uh! I mean no, it's not rude at all!" He waved his hands in a panic stuttering. Nick had a sly smile. "Well, run on home now." Nick said in a slightly mocking tone. Johnny nodded, backing up and waving. "Goodnight Judy! S-see you later!" He called out before heading out the door.
Judy was glaring at Nick who still wore a satisfied smile. "Alright carrots, let's go."
