The New Warrior(Shuri x Tara(my oc)

New York?

I couldn't sleep last night. It was like the past was washing over me and I feel terrible. The guilt that I couldn't help my mom is washing over me everyday and it's driving me insane. I've got to keep my mind off this and do something productive today.

I'm suddenly pulled from my thoughts when I hear a light knock on the door of my spacious room and a familiar voice calling for me. "Tara. Wake up. Are you decent?" Okoye calls. "Yea, come in." I lazily pull myself out of my cozy bed just as she steps in, closing the door behind her.

"Is everything ok?" I ask, walking to the closet. "I got in contact with the Avengers" She pauses thoughtfully. "And we agreed it'd be best for you to live in New York, their tower to be exact." She finishes. "I'm going New York? Why so sudden?" I pull out a simple outfit and shoes to wear and then proceed to head to place them on the bathroom door.

"The border tribe is starting another war and I've decided to keep you safe by sending you there. I lost your mother and I'm not prepared to loose you too" She smiles sadly. "Understandable. But what happens if you don't make it?" I question, making my bed in the process. "Tara. I have gone through countless wars and made it. This time shouldn't be any different." She smiles. "So did my mother but she didn't make it last time" I snap. "Sorry" I turn away from her and walk into the bathroom, turning it on and letting the water run.

"I understand. I just want you to be safe. I'll be by the entrance. Get yourself ready and head there. I'll get someone to come pack your bags and we'll send them to the tower in advance." She nods before leaving and closing the door, allowing me to get into get into the shower.

*Time skip*

This is it. My first time outside of Wakanda. I wonder what New York is like. Tall buildings? God I hope so. I wanna see all of the large skyscrapers that New York has to offer. I grin to myself as I hurriedly walk through the long, winding hallways towards the front entrance.

"Your here" She presses a button on the aircraft I'll be flying on which opens up the hatch. "I am" I nod as she guides me onto the ship. "It's on automatic autopilot so all you have to do is sit and wait. As for your items they are already at the tower, in your room." She turns on the autopilot and goes back to the opening of the ship. "How long will I be in New York?" I turn to her. "It all depends on how long this war lasts" She replies, smiling as I give her a light hug before pulling away.

"Have fun Tara. Don't cause to much trouble for the Avengers" She chuckles, walking off the ship. "I'll try" I laugh just as she closes the hatch to the ship, letting it fly up. I sit down and hurriedly clip myself to the side of the ship. This is going to be a longggg trip. After about an hour I finally doze off...

*Time skip*

A large jolt to the ship causes me to immediately wake up, opening my eyes to see that everything is slanted and smoke is emitting from the opposite side. In panic I unclip the seatbelt and try to find a parachute only to be met with a heavy wack to the head.

*Another time skip*

"Get up brat. Time for the first experiment" I hear a deep voice growl, slapping my cheek in attempt to pull me back into consciousness. Opening my eyes I'm met with a scientist in a white lab coat and a small metal table, covered with various knives, syringes and more, placed beside him.

I lean my head up as best I can only to realize that I'm strapped to a large metal table, the cold metal making a strange impact with the warmth of my caramel coloured skin. "Where am I? Are you one of the Avengers?" I ask the strange, yet small, man.

"Ew no! I'm Doctor Eis. And this, child, is Hydra Base 147, your new home." He wipes a knife clean of blood. "What's that for?" I attempt to point to the items on the table. "To make you powerful so you can kill the Avengers" Was his final words before I get knocked out again...
