His diary

I woke up in the middle of the night, unable to sleep. I slowly tiptoed to the Common Room holding a lit candle. I slowly walked towards the glass dome, putting the candle on the table and pressed my face to glass. It was beautiful. With mixed hues of blue and green and the moonlight reflecting on to the lake.

"Nervous for tomorrow?" A male voice said.

"Who's there?" I asked, turning around.

"Godric Gryffindor." the person said sarcastically.

I faked enthusiasm. "Really? It's an absolute pleasure meeting you, though I can't exactly see you in the dark-"

"Just . . . look above the fireplace." the person groaned.

"Oh hello Mr. Slytherin. " I said, once I could see his face.

"You're exactly like your father, except you have your mother's sass." he said, looking down at me.

"How do you know that? From what I hear, you hate Gryffindors." I enquired.

"You do know that something called gossip exists, right?" he mocked.

I rolled my eyes.

"Moving on, if you are nervous, maybe find your father's diary." Slytherin said.

"And how, pray tell, am I supposed to do that, when I didn't know about this place until this summer?"

"Imagine a snake and tell it to open the 'vault'. " he said in a bored tone.

"Okay." I said suspiciously. I remembered how one Dudley's birthday, I'd talked to a snake. Maybe that was what I had to do.

"Open the 'vault'. " I said, imaging a snake.

I heard a hiss and a crack.

"Now reach out and slowly walk forward." Slytherin instructed. I did what he said and my hand went inside a hole.

I felt around and soon touched a leather type cover. I grinned and grabbed the book.

"Now say close the 'vault'."  With another crack the hole in the wall sealed itself.

"Oh and one more thing." Slytherin said. "Concentrate, move your wand in a line from up to down and say "Lumos".

"Okay. Thank you. It was really nice of you." I smiled.

"I am not heartless as some people make people make me out to be." he huffed.

I giggled and went to my room. I took a pen, put the diary on my lap and covered myself with the large blanket. I took a deep breath and moved my wand in a line manner, from up to down and said 'Lumos'.

A small ball of light appeared at the tip of my wand. I beamed. I placed the wand between my knees and opened the book.

I just realised I didn't know what to do. I wrote the first thing I thought I'd say to my father if I met him.

"Hey?" I wrote.

"Hello." it wrote back.

I eagerly wrote back.

"My name is Persephone Riddle."

There was a few minutes pause.

"I am Tom Riddle." the sentence appeared. Along with a big smiley face.
