Vampire turmoil

Dear diary,
The last few weeks have been nightmarish to say the least. Katherine Pierce struck a cord by turning Caroline into a vampire, she went through her transition all on her own. She's doing better, now at least. Bonnie has slowly come around and made her a daylight ring and Stefan is teaching her how to feed.
I've been reaching out to my old contacts about the sun and moon curse. There is obviously the fake curse Elijah and Nik spread rumours about in the 1300's. I need to know about the real curse, and it's looking like I'm going to have to go to the source. All I know is it needs the moonstone a witch and some sort of sacrifice.
I'm going to ring Elijah. I need to know what's at risk.

"Thank you for meeting with me." I said as he sat himself down next to me.
"I will always come when you call Ari." He said knowingly.
"I need to know the really curse, the sun and moon? Will you tell me?" I turned to him searching his face.
"Ah why the sudden interest?"
"Katherine threatened me and my brothers if we don't find her the moonstone, she then killed, well turned Caroline."
"Of course Katerina is involved somehow."
"She wants her freedom from Nik, and thinks this is her way of getting it."
"She must know there's no point threatening you."
"She does, but my brothers don't known about my affiliation with your family, I wish to keep it that way. I'm sure you understand." I looked away from him uncomfortable with the turn in conversation. We sat in silence for a few minutes watching the world go by.
"The sun and moon curse was placed on my brother by our mother soon after we were turned into vampires. It was a way to keep his werewolf abilities hidden. The spell is bound buy the full moon and the moonstone, in turn you will need both to break the curse." I took note of all ingredients he stated so far a full moon the stone while also assuming the need of a witch.
"Is that all the stone and the full moon?" I'm hoping so anyway.
"Not exactly, there needs to be a sacrifice. One of each species." He glanced my way as the realisation of why Katherine did to Caroline came to light.
"A vampire and werewolf? That's why she turned Caroline..... she would never offer up my brothers and couldn't get away with offering me. Mason he's dead the werewolf." He glanced at my face a look I didn't understand ran across his face too quickly for me to recognise.
"She'll have a backup plan I'm sure."
"What about Caroline? I don't wish to see her harmed Elijah."
"You must converse with Nicklaus my love, I don't believe I have any say in the matter." I stood up in front of him grabbing his attention.
"Don't be ridicules Lijah, you have his ear and you know it, please?"
"I will see what I can do." he stood up from the bench and held his arm out for me. I took it as he lead me back to my car.
"Do I need to know anything else?" I asked gazing up towards his face.
"Not at all, that is all." He smiled down at me with an affection behind his eyes that I must admit I have missed.
"Thank you, Elijah." He kissed my head and heals the door open for me.
"Be safe my dear." And I drove away.

Elijah's point of view

"Did you tell her?" He was behind me the second her car was out of sight.
"To and extent yes." I turned to him, he glared at me from a few feet away.
"Elijah she cannot know, she would not allow it! It will be done Elijah."
"You will push her away more Nicklaus, she will hate you more that you will know." He stalked closer to me.
"Does she know?"
"No, not about Elena."
"Good keep it that way!" And he was gone.
I stare at the space the previously occupied wondering how she would react when I lied directly to her face. Or even worse when she realises what I actually have planned.
I'm sorry Ariella, you were meant to be his saving grace but in the end it was he who broke you instead, it needs to be done, it will be.
