"Don't be stupid." The captain of the Impala scoffed at the sleazy merchant. Dean realised that he was just trying to get the most for his products but Dean had been around far too long to have the wool pulled over his eyes. He stared down at the merchant unpleasantly which made his squirm under Dean's watchful, disdained eye. Dean wasn't overly keen on merchants, he felt like they lied too much. Sure, Dean murdered and thieved but at least he wasn't a liar.

"Alright, alright. Keep your pants on." The merchant squeaked and rummaged around his shop to find more things to trade with the captain. Dean took this opportunity to look around the shop, turning his nose up at the fake magical trinkets that the merchant sold to superstitious sailors. He flicked a woven trinket that made it bounce around and rolled his eyes at it, wondering who the fuck believed in this type of crap. Many sailors were into superstitions but Dean thought that was a load of bullshit. You either died at sea or lived long enough to wish you had. "Here we go, sir."

Dean turned to find the merchant holding out a few more items that Dean peered at, before picking them up and measuring their sturdiness. He frowned menacingly as he inspected it and the merchant watched him closely, making sure that Dean felt the items were adequate enough for a trade. Dean finally pulled out his sword which made the merchant jump back. Dean raised an amused eyebrow at him and measured the fit of the item against his sword. He was trying to buy some new sheaths for his crews swords and guns, but most of the ones the merchant was selling wasn't the quality that Dean was used to. He sighed and shook his head, throwing down the sheath and putting his sword back into his own.

"No."

"No?" The merchant exclaimed. He was a wiry little man with eyes too big for his face which made him look like he was always scared. His head and balding, and the little hair he did have stuck to his forehead as if the man was always sweating. He wore expensive clothes as if to try and impress his customers at the luxury items he apparently held in his small, port town, market shop. "This is the best leather on this side of the isles!"

"Well, maybe i want the best leather on the other side of the isles, because this is shit." Dean growled and picked up the items he was trying to trade before turning on his heel and making his way back towards the door.

"Okay! Fine!" The merchant cried and Dean smiled at the door before slowly turning back around, letting his smile drop to a look of disdain back at the merchant who already had his back to him. He was rummaging around a hidden box that Dean, of course, had clocked as soon as he had walked into the shop.

"That's more like it." Dean growls as he grabs the better quality sheaths from the merchant and once again inspects them individually. "Wasn't so hard, was it?"

"Can't blame a poor man for trying," The merchant wheezed and gave Dean a sickly sweet smile which the captain ignored and placed half of his items back down.

"And just because of the time wasting, I'm going to be buying them from you for half of what I promised." Dean replied and shoved the sheaths into his leather bag before the merchant could let out a loud noise of anger.

"You can't do that!" The merchant tried arguing and Dean turned on his heel, leaving the shop without another word. The merchant was lucky that he got anything at all after the way he treated Dean. After all, he was a pirate, he could have just stolen the items outright and killed the merchant. It definitely had gone through Dean's mind to do exactly that but he thought better of it, not wanting any more enemies than he already had. Also, that just wasn't good business.

He checked up on some of the crew making sure they were doing their jobs before they went straight to the taverns and brothels. He rolled his eyes when he saw that they hadn't done a single thing he had asked and had to drag them out of the bar, throwing them into the dirt and barking orders at them. If he hadn't have done that, he would lose the respect of the crew and got the reputation of a soft captain. One couldn't be a pirate and a soft captain, that just wasn't on the cards. Weirdly enough though, being tough with his crew wasn't exactly in Dean's nature, it was learned in order to gain the fear and respect of people around him so he could run the best ship on the water.
