Kyo Sohma didn't know why he was walking past the bookstore he exited earlier in the morning, but he found his legs moving without being told to.
He passed a couple of buildings, his hands tucked into his pockets when he stopped at the first window of the familiar old-fashioned building. Peeking in, his jaw dropped to the ground.
Shigure stood there, one arm wrapped casually around your waist as you talked with a slightly nervous expression, carrying a couple of books in your arms.
What the fuck?
Kyo didn't want to stick around to see anymore- he didn't even know why he was there in the first place. He just wanted to let out some steam and concluded he would go searching for his silver-haired rival.
Making his way home, he admired how nice of a day it was out today.
When he finally reached the front door he glanced back at the sunny outdoors before closing the door behind him. Yuki didn't appear to be home but his other housemate, Tohru Honda was busy in the kitchen making lunch.
"Kyo! I was so worried after you didn't come home last night- it was raining so badly!" Tohru looked grateful to see Kyo but turned back to whatever she was cooking in an attempt to not let it burn. "I almost thought no one would be home for my cooking, so I'm glad you're here." Tohru turned her head to give Kyo a kind, eye shutting smile and he returned a small one.
"Everything's fine, thankfully I found a dry place to hide out in." He decided to leave out the details of being offered the dry place by a stranger, figuring it would just worry her more he was taken by a stranger.
"Oh good, I'm glad."
Kyo shuffled to his knees to sit at the table and propped his head upon his hand that rested on the table, using his free hand to drum on the wood. He watched Tohru as she worked, his eyes shifting to the cabinet next to her, spacing out.
He zoned back into Tohru placing a plate down in front of him.
"Sorry, I'm late!" Shigure strolled into the room, smiling as he sat across from Kyo. "I just had the most lovely meeting. The old bookstore downtown was taken over by a quite agreeable young girl." When the man noticed Kyo's displeased look he added, "Not that young! Just young enough" He threw in a wink.
"I don't want to hear about it, Shigure."
Tohru stepped next to the zodiac dog and placed down a still steaming plate of food before placing one in the spot next to him and slinking down to her knees.
Kyo ate slowly thinking about attending school tomorrow. He had hardly studied for the mathematics test tomorrow and he groaned inwardly when he reminded himself of it.
Finishing quickly on purpose, Kyo stood up, clearing his plate and dropping it into the sink before briskly heading for the door.
"And where are you going right now?" Shigure sounded amused.
