"Jaehyun hyung! We should take our places now."

Jaehyun is jerked out of his thoughts when he hears Mark's voice call him. Jaehyun's heart immediately falls. It isn't that he doesn't want to do it. It's more like he's afraid he won't be able to stop the tears when it actually happens.

"Wait. Give me a moment," his voice comes out in a soft plead, obviously dripping with pain.

Mark sighs, putting his hand on his hyung's shoulder, squeezing them gently.

"Do you need to see her once before we set up? There's still time."

Jaehyun doesn't know. He doesn't know if it will be better to see her before it actually happens. He doesn't know if he can take the sight of her dressed in white lace and satin, her fingers coiled around a bouquet of flowers as her hair is styled like the princess she is. He doesn't know if he can handle the beauty that he has always admired but never acknowledged in front of her. He doesn't know if he can stand to see the silver metal wrapped around her finger and the diamond that sits on it.

But he thinks it will still be better to see it all beforehand. Before he has to see her dad send her off to someone she has come to love more than herself. It will be less of a slap in the face to get this over and done with before he has to sing in front of the married couple.

"Yeah. I think I will."

"Okay. I'll let Taeyong hyung know."

He hears the door of the room shut softly behind him and he sighs, releasing a shaky breath. He fiddles with the bow tie around his neck. No matter how many times he tries to set it right, it ends up crooked. Jaehyun groans, exasperated, burrying his face in his hands.

He tries to mentally and emotionally prepare himself. Once settled, he sighs and reaches for his suit jacket. He trudges out of the dressing room and lets the door shut silently behind him.

His feet seems to drag itself towards the bride's room. The situation was so surreal that he keeps having to remind himself that he isn't dreaming and that it was just the adrenaline from the anxiety that's causing the walls to spin. Jaehyun finds it so nauseating that he struggles to force the bile down his throat as he stands in front of her room, coming face to face with a placard adorned with her name on the surface of the door.

Here goes nothing.

Jaehyun takes a deep breath and reaches out to grasp the cold doorknob tightly. He pushes slightly and pokes his head in first to make sure he isn't intruding.

"Jaehyun? Jaehyun ah!"

Suddenly, the door is ripped away from his face, missing it by millimetres and the wind is knocked out of him as he is almost tackled to the ground in a rib-crushing hug.

"Miss! You'll smudge you makeup!" he hears from behind him.

"Oh right," she giggles, her breath tickling Jaehyun's neck.

She carefully pushes him away from her tiny body and Jaehyun takes in the sight of her.

"Doyeon ah," he breathes.

Words cannot describe how ethereal she looks. Jaehyun tries to slow his breathing because honestly, he thought he was looking at an angel.

Doyeon's hair is put up in a simple bun with several tiny braids running from her scalp, disappearing behind the bun. Shiny glitter decorated her hair, a complete contrast to the simplicity of the up-do and Jaehyun wonders how the hair stylist had managed to convince Doyeon to let her use glitter hair spray, because he knows his best friend would never have willingly allowed it.
