Aang wasn't the best at reading maps. The number of times he's gotten lost because he can't read a map is ridiculous, to say the least. And what's worse, was there was a torrent of rain lashing against him, slightly obscuring his vision. Spirits, how could things go so badly so fast, he thought as he continued the long, muddy trek back to the restaurant he had found a few hours ago. Funnily enough, he had circled past that very same shop about 6 times, so by now he practically memorized the route back toward it. He would just have to catch the next train that was leaving for Republic City. The place that Aang lived in wasn't that bad per sue, but Republic City had offered many more jobs and opportunities that could help him in the long run. It certainly wasn't an easy decision, but he hoped that the rest of his family supported him. You see, not only is Aang bad at geography and map things but also very poor. Well, not homeless, but barely surviving. He was the one who was earning the most money so when he broke the news to his family, they were all understandably shocked. It took a while, but he eventually convinced them to let him leave, though, he wasn't sure if they were being sincere.
Aang let out an exasperated and confused sigh. Since when was being a teenager so hard. For his age, Aang was surprisingly mature, meaning that most adults admired him and called him 'One of the good ones' or 'You could be considered an adult already young man' and blah blah blah. And honestly, Aang was sick of it. He didn't know why, as these things were good things to be called... right? So then, why does he feel like he's someone else when he acts formally. He should feel normal, not out-of-place. His thoughts stopped to a screeching halt once he had reached the very same restaurant he had passed by a few minutes ago. He let out a annoyed moan and kicked a small pebble in anger. There were only a few people relaxing on the chairs and drinking tea, which probably meant that it was getting late since usually this place is packed. This was a good thing for Aang because it means that he doesn't need to talk to people.

Oh yeah, did I mention that Aang has social anxiety?
Yep. An air bender that is socially awkward around people.

Anyway, the young air bender waltzed through the door, which, in turn, made a small jingle sound. He had immediately gotten an old vibe to this place. The smooth wooden texture and the old dingy smell only encouraged this. Aang sat down at the furthest seat from the door, as to not speak to anyone passing by. He'd just have to figure something out here. Aang was very intelligent for his age, so coming up with solutions to his problems were a price of cake, as long as they didn't include maps or geography. He really sucked at that. He let out a small sigh and ran his hand through his black and slightly brown hair. This is just the worst. He laid back against the wall, both his arms behind his head.
Could this day get any worse?
It turns out, that yes. Yes it could. Apparently, the spirits found Aang's dilemma so funny, that they decided to made his day even worse than it already is. Aang could hear proceeding footsteps in his direction and lifted one of his eyes and, to his dismay, saw a young girl walking up to him. At first glance, she seemed kind of scary, but that thought soon vanished after she got closer. The girl finally reached him and stood patiently next to Aang, waiting for him to catch her attention. Aang still had one of his eyes barely open and he took this opportunity to examine the girl more. She had a some-what lean body, and short, reddish hair. She was pretty, Aang thought. Finally, after some consideration, he opened his eyes and raised his eyebrows at the girl, showing that he wanted to know what she wanted. Aang could sort-of deal with one person at a time, he just really couldn't deal with large groups. That's why he didn't have any friends. The only friend he had was his brother, Tenzin, and he was certainly an annoying friend to say the least. The girl flashed a smile politely and cheerfully said,
