Chapter 5-Shin's POV

Shin’s POV

“Sleep well now, Alena-sama.There are still a lot of things that awaits you.”

Though I don’t know if she can hear what I said it doesn’t matter.Last time I can just see myself facing the chairman of the World Butlers Association {WBA} together with a couple.

“Shin, this is is Colonel Johnson of the US Army with his wife. They asked me to find the best butler who will serve  his lady loyally. Since I heard that she’s still young, I recommended you to become her butler.I’ve already cancelled your contract with the Ishio family and they’ve already found a replacement.You will now be serving the Johnson’s Family.”

Mr. Johnson  broke his silence.

“You see my wife and I  are childless. So we planned to temporarily adopt her goddaughter until she finishes her college. My wife told me stories about the child being so sickly when she was still small that she would often be admitted to the hospital twice or thrice a month. Thus she was always ignored by others, and left alone. She doesn’t know how to treat others,to love people around her. She grew up in a sad, messy way. But then again she’s smart in school and has potential in many fields.We want to help her change, and become a better person.”

“Don’t worry sir, Shin is one of the best products we have.You will never be disappointed.” The chairman then turned to face me.

“She’s currently living at the Philippines. Bring her to Japan since she’ll be enrolling to ‘that’ school.”

After that, I travelled to her country to find her. Intelligence report says her name was Alena Ricarte, 16 years of age. I went to their school and found out she’s a senior and on the top class. I asked a student if she knows where Ms. Alena is. The girl told me she’s in their classroom.

It looks like everything was true about her, especially the fact that she’s always alone. I saw her arranging the chairs,sweeping their floor and such, alone and isolated from her other friends who were all outside. She was indeed pitiful. I entered their room without prior notice and asked several times if she was Ms. Alena. She didn’t  answer. As expected. Then I heard one of her classmates call her attention. She turned around and faced my direction.

She was thin but her quite chubby cheeks didn’t make it obvious. Her hair was as black as coal. It falls perfectly to her shoulders with its end being all wavy. Her lips was small yet perfectly shaped. They say most South East Asians have tanned skin but hers was quite lighter and pale.

“Ms. Alena?” I asked her again. She replied her yes with a nod.

I don’t want to waste my time so I introduced myself directly,“It is my greatest honor to meet you Alena-sama. From now on until my last breath I’ll be serving you and forever be yours, my one and only milady. At your service madam, I’m Shin Reus, your very own butler.”

She seems to be surprised about that. It looks like her schoolmates were also shocked but I think in a happy way. I even heard their giggles. Teenagers,tsk.

Sad to say, she said I got the wrong person and maybe that girl is in the other building of the school. I apologized and went away.

The next happenings was Mrs. Johnson called and gave Ms. Alena’s current address. I found out that the girl in school was indeed her. That same night I explained to her parents and also to her about everything. It all ended with her approval.

In just a short time, somehow I saw her true self. She was a person who needed someone. She would rather keep everything to herself instead of telling it to people. She lets herself starve to death instead of wasting a few coins. But amidst all that, she is a very thoughtful person.

“W-Wait, promise me you will take good care of yourself also.” That promise, I’ll  keep it.

“Attention, we will be arriving on Narita Airport any minute now. Please prepare for the landing.”
