She stared at the grey building before her, watching as men and women in uniform arrived at work, sipping on coffees and greeting friends. Just a normal, bleak day.
Elektra tried not to wince every time the door swung open and closed, as she tried not to think about what she'd decided to do. The gravity of the situation had dawned upon her, and she felt a strong urge to run away off the edge of the planet. But her feet were glued to the ground.
Earlier that morning, Liam and Frank had offered some words of advice but despite their encouragement, she still felt alone. Abby came and stood beside her, before gently taking her hand in hers.
Her face came into view; her kind, consoling eyes were gentle and inviting.
Tell them your story. Let them help you.
Having another woman with her, seemed to take the pressure off Elektra. Whatever happened next, she wouldn't be alone. As she drifted towards the door, Elektra felt a gust of wind whoosh past her and she was reminded of her siblings.
Felix and Melissa.
Their lives may have been short-lived, but they continued to live in her presence. She was doing this for them too.
As she stepped into the room; she was immediately reminded of Mike's office. A comfy sofa beckoned her, and she noted the tissue box on the table in front of her.
Round 2.
With Abby holding her hand, and a kind-looking police officer listening attentively, she began to speak. The words flowed from her mouth, like a river that she'd kept bottled up. As the officer interrupted with some questions; Elektra began to remember details which she'd missed, the events from earlier that evening, the way Harvey had been acting ever since she'd arrived.
Her bond with Charlie. Almost motherly.
Recollections filled her head, and tears were shed as she tried her hardest to speak through the pain. She wasn't going to take it anymore.
Then came the clinic and the clothes examination. Elektra closed her eyes, as a nurse examined her and wrote down some notes. She held back the embarrassment and tried not to tremble when she was touched.
At the end of it all, Elektra was exhausted. Whether the officers could prove her case or not, she'd spoken. She'd told the truth. And for now, that's all that mattered. A weight off her shoulders.
The only consolation she could've wished for was an apology. An acknowledgement that Harvey knew what he'd done. But that wouldn't be for weeks now. She'd given her all and as she walked out of the station, Abby smiled at her as Elektra managed an emotional smile back.
She was getting herself back together.
Liam couldn't take his eyes off the picture of Harvey. A man. A rich man, but he could've been anyone.
"Liam, don't..." Frank warned Liam, who'd tensed at the sight of him. Liam couldn't help it. Ever since that day, when Elektra had opened up about her violations during her time in Cobra, he'd felt protective of her.
How someone could even think about taking advantage, was incomprehensible to him.
She was over at the station now, telling the officers everything. Liam only wished he could've been more helpful. But these things were delicate. Elektra had Abby, and all Liam could do was help behind the scenes.
Closing the laptop, Liam tried to remember useful facts from his research. Harvey was now living in a new apartment in London, working for some posh office and being a generous benefactor. He was somewhat famous locally, but Liam couldn't find any reference to any other similar incidents.
