Ron and Harry both seemed anxious to get back to the castle, the two of them shifting their weight from foot to foot uneasily.

"Who attacked the castle?" I asked, shocked at the idea. Sure, Voldemort came back a couple years ago, I just hadn't thought that now, in my 6th year at Hogwarts, he or anyone else would be planning to attack the school. Everything on that front had seemed peaceful, as if all the major wizarding world criminals had decided to take a break.

"Not Voldemort," said Harry and I breathed a sigh of relief. He was the one I feared the most. "Bellatrix Lestrange is here and she's pissed off at someone."

"Shit!" Draco exclaimed and set off running towards the castle. Confused, Harry, Ron, and I followed. I was a good ten feet behind them because apparently I can't run well while I'm five months pregnant. Who would've thought?

We went through the portal and they kept running. I slowed down for a second to catch my breath when I heard a voice behind me. "Hermione Granger," the voice stated, and I instantly recognized it. Turning around cautiously, I found myself face to face with Bellatrix.

"What do you want?" I asked, backing up a couple steps.

"Oh, no need to be scared of me. Yet," she let out a laugh at her own joke and then walked up closer to me, her joking demeanor gone as she shoved me so my back was against a tree and held the tip of her wand to my throat, menacingly. "Who's baby is it?" She asked and I shook my head.

"What baby?" I asked, breathless from fear.

"Don't play dumb, Mudblood," she hissed.

"It's Draco's," I said, almost silently, under my breath, but she still heard me. Her expression changed from anger, to surprise, to confusion, to an eerie joy. Shoot, I should have lied and said it was Ron's. Draco acted strange when he heard that Bellatrix was here and pissed at someone. I'm screwed.

"Well, well, it does shock me that he would go for someone like you. But, considering why I'm here, him doing something stupid like this surprises me more than it should," the corners of her mouth turned up in a grin similar to how I would picture a snake smiling before it sank it's fangs into its prey.

"Please, let me go. Whatever problem you have with Draco, I can assure you I didn't cause it," I replied and she shook her head.

"You're exactly the person I need with me right now. Is Dumbledore still alive?" She asked and I nodded. "Then that means you've been distracting Draco from his task."

I froze, the words sinking in. Draco was supposed to kill Dumbledore? He hadn't mentioned that to me at all, and how could he even consider doing such a thing?

"Hermione?!" I heard someone call and I tensed up. Draco. He shouldn't have come back to look for me.

Bellatrix backed up from me about ten steps, but she kept her wand pointed at my throat. "One spell from me and you're dead," she whispered, and I watched in horror as Draco came running out of some nearby trees, a panicked look on his face.

Bellatrix smirked. Before I could register what was happening she began a spell.

"Avada Kedavra-" she said and green light flashed from the end of her wand and towards me. I closed my eyes and braced for impact, but it never came. I hesitantly opened my eyes after a few seconds and saw Draco at my feet, sprawled across the ground. Bellatrix let out one last laugh before casting another spell and disappearing.

I looked down at the boy at my feet. How did we go from enemies to him sacrificing his life for me?
