the crease in your cheek when you smile

it changes with your emotions

softer when you think I'm not looking

harsher when you're talking to your father

we both pretend

that the harshness hides the hurt

it doesn't

our hands never fit into each other

never clicked

dislocated shoulder being fixed

we had to mold our fingers together

every line continuing on the other's palm

I have to admit

you were so pretty

like uncanny melodies and heart wrenching lyrics

blurry chords and choking keys

smiling curls and parallels lashes,

a little scar on your temple from an archery accident

there was freckle near your left eye

I could see it especially well in the sunlight

remember our times in the sunlight?

honey on our tongues and glances

sweat on our necks and brows

shadows dancing on your face

sharpening your cheekbones and clear eyes

all angles and angels

yes, I chose you well

so angelic

and

so pathetic
