Li Hua has carried the boy in her arms as they walk back to her house. The night was still young. But now, the moon was starting to peak behind the dark skies. The stars are not very shy anymore. It was indeed a pretty night sky, just as precious as the boy in her arms. "You are so smart and lovely like the stars and moon, dear" she told to the sleeping boy. "But what should I call you, son, I don't even get to know your name?" She whispered.
"My mom always call me her little treasure (Xiao Bao 小宝)." The boy, whom she thought was fast asleep suddenly muttered.
"You're awake yet? We're almost there; you will meet my son soon." She happily blurt out. "You are indeed their little treasure," she continue "You can call me however you want ayi, as precious as your son's," He said while stretching one of his arms up while the other hand covers her yawning mouth.
"Poor baobei, you were indeed somebody's precious son, and how bright you are, indeed," Li Hua whispered. "Then I shall name you Bodhi!"
"Body? But why? He inquires.
"No, it's not b-o-d-y, it's b-o-d-h-i! (菩提) It means enlightenment. For you fully comprehend the situation well, you are very smart indeed! Li Hua carefully explains.
"I approved of that Ms. Li," Bodhi happily smiled. "How come my papa and mom never thinks of that? They'll only call me precious, darling, baobao, and so on but never a smart guy! The boy said. "What about your son, Ms. Li? What's his name? He added.
Ding! The elevator below the Apartment- C opens.
"Why don't you ask him when you meet him? Now, can you please press on number 8? Thank you," she said.
"Are we there yet? So you live on the eight floor?" The boy asked.
"Yes, in room 805, and from now on you're living with us here now! Is that okay?" she suggests.
"But I will miss my home; can we go visit there next time? I miss my mom and papa too." The boy remembers with teary- eyes.
"We'll visit your house Bodhi, don't cry, we'll visit there soon, I promise." She assured the boy.
"Mama!" calls the other boy from the room, as Li Hua enters the house with the younger boy in her arms.
"ShenShen!" She replied as she carefully puts down the younger boy between her legs, hugging the older one in front of her. The boy hugged tighter as he misses his mom who went home a couple of hours later than the usual time.
"What took you so long, I am worried already, what happened in the orphanage? Did you eat yet?" He asked in sequence. "Who is he?" he pointed after realizing that there's a younger boy hiding behind his mama's pants. "Are you the young boy from the news?" He continued.
"I am in the news?" He asked in confusion.
"Yes he is, Shen, mama got back so late because I need to help this young man here, he just lost his parents and the president asked me to take care of him for now, that's why he's with me, he'll be staying with us from tonight, is that okay with you?" Ms. Li explains thoroughly.
"I'm having a didi now? Am having a didi now! What? Finally! I am a big brother now!" He joyfully said. "Of course, mama, I'd like to have a baby brother, Of course," Shen was so happy. The boy on the other hand doesn't seem to be understanding things now, he's dozing off suddenly.
"Can I sleep with you, Gege?" He said instead.
Ms. Li carefully laid the young boy on Shen's bed; she took of the boy's shoes, and tucked him inside the bed. She strokes his hair up and pat the boy's head gently. "He's sleeping with you now," She told Shen.
"That's fine with me, mama. The bed's quite big for us anyways, but where will you sleep now?" Shen asked his mama.
"I'll take the couch; it is comfortable enough. Don't worry about me; he needs us more than me needing the bed, Shen."
"Did you eat yet? Yangchow's inside the microwave. You can reheat it again," He told his mama while giving her his goodnight kiss. "Goodnight, mama."
"Thank you Shen, sleep tight." She whispered as she lightly closes the door of now, the boy's room.
It was 21:00 now on the clock.
The night's still young but the skies aren't so dire anymore. Thanks to Ms. Li's heartwarming soul, Bodhi has now found a new home.
