CHAPTER 12: Quipper, Agent Quipper

"I'll be very understanding, spill it,"  Bodi told Sean while sitting at the patio.

"Well good morning to you too? How are you feeling Bodi? You feel much better now?" Sean hissed trying to offend the other person.

"I almost die, remember?" Bodi replied

"It's just a minor scratch, don't be such a baby! You're the Triad's leader, remember!?" Sean insults. 

"Hmp! How did you know such a place existed?" Bodi response. "And who's the boss you're talking with about some operations a while ago?" he continued. 

"Were you listening all along? Sean replied. 

"Do we have to rock, paper, scissors, stone?" Bodi mumbled. "Like old times?" he continued.

"Bodi-ahhh, why so childish, you still really want to do that after getting shot?" Sean, very irritated already. 

"Mnn. Why not?" Bodi said with a poker face. 

"Okay! Okay! Okay!" Sean shouts crossly. "I should never discuss this and God knows what could happen to me next after telling you but I got scouted by MSS 4 years ago. They told me I have the capacity of becoming a great agent, at the first year I was unresponsive but they kept on following me from work so after a year I ended up as an agent finally." Sean started. "I went through some arduous physical and mental training for the past 3 years, I also underwent strenuous studying which is like you've enrolled at the university again for you bachelor's degree, it's just that this time it's more exigent. This was during the time you barely see me coming home, thinking that it was my job at the Social Welfare Bureau that's taking its toll on me, remember, I even got promotion? It's because it's all part of the MSS plan." Sean explains thoroughly. 

"3 weeks ago." Bodi interrupted. "Three weeks ago a man suddenly approached me on my way home. I thought he's another professor from the other department so I entertained him. He told me that I resemble an old friend of his and he also said that in a few days I'll be unraveling a truth that has long been covered. I only realized that he's not a professor because after that he gave me a cautious message which send shiver to my spine, and that's my parents' death weren't actually an accident but a planned one, but my survival wasn't part of it. He then left a series of newspaper cutouts about the murder of my parents and left after." Bodi explains carefully to his gege. "Then few days after that I finally met Qian Lei, it was actually just my luck. Remember the newspaper cutouts? I decipher a message from those, it says MEET ME AT YOUR FAVORITE NOODLE HOUSE AT RUA DO CUNHA ON THE NIGHT OF 16th AT 18:00." he continued. 

"At first I was hesitant, I mean I got the cutouts 3 days ago, right? and it says night of 16th, but I still tried. That was technically 3 nights of Qian Lei coming back and forth to the noodle house already. But what amazes me is how that person knows about the noodle house that I like to eat at while I was growing up which is UNCLE YU'S." Bodi said. "So I rush from the university and went to the said place and do you remember Uncle Yu? He's helped me back then during the night of my parent's murder." The young man carefully explains. "He introduced Qian Lei to me. You probably know by now that my dad was a triad kingpin from Hong Kong, The Big Circle Triad, wherein Qian Lei and Uncle Yu were actually some of my dad's underlings." Bodi said in a reluctant tone. 

"I know about that triad, but I didn't know your dad was the leader of it. I mean he uses pseudonyms, right?" Sean tries to calm Bodi. "So your dad was the infamous Wan Kai who after falling in love dismantled the biggest triad in Hong Kong and moved to Macau? woah..." Sean gasped. "If that is not love I don't know about it anymore." Sean tries to sway Bodi. "You know what, when we're learning about these triad things at MSS we're so baffled by your dad's story, I didn't know it's real," Sean said while looking so amazed at Bodi. "And you were the fruit of that love, Bodi." He finishes.
