so, imma write down my experience at the mental hospital because so many stereotypes distort people's views on what it's like in the psych ward.

also remember, I'm a minor so I was in the children's ward

so, we got up at either 7 or 8, then it was go get your small hygiene kit and get your vitals taken after you brush your teeth and all that jazz. then, once everyone was in their respective common areas (there were 2, sometimes 3), they locked bedroom doors and started calling kids out to go to the med counter for their medicine. after all the meds were taken, we watched something on the tv for a bit (which was either something on cartoon network, Hanna Montanna, or hamilton in the mornings) before they called us out to get breakfast. I don't remember what they typically gave us for breakfast, but there was always 2 pieces of bacon on our trays and since I don't eat breakfast usually, that's all I ate in the mornings while I was there. then we just watched Disney plus until either the chaplain or the teacher came in, the chaplain just played "encouraging" songs on a very beautiful acoustic guitar. what I mean by encouraging is he played songs like fight song, he played one by Jason something-that-started-with-an-m. the teacher usually came in in the mornings to tell us hello, then she'd leave until 1 something where we'd go over the news for the entirety of class, then we'd do group therapy. but until then, it was Disney plus, sometimes outside time, sometimes games, lunch, then nap. during class, we'd have snack, and all we'd do during group was talk about what emotion we felt and why we felt that way. after that we'd watch movies until dinner, after dinner we'd have time to watch one more movie before shower time, after that, we'd watch bob's burgers or whatever was on adult swim. then it would be time for bed, the tv would also switch off automatically at like 9 or something. and that's about it for the routine.

what meds am i on you may ask? well, its none of your business. just kidding, I'm on an anti-depressent and one to stop the voices. the latter is also used to treat schizophrenia so :/

anyways that's it lmao
