As we approached the gate, two angelic creatures stood atleast 24 feet high, 4 eyes, flaming wings on their back, a halo of light spinning around two golden horns, and a staff that held secrets to things beyond our knowledge. They were truly a sight to see, powerful beings that could control the universe herself is they wanted to. But they were meant to stay here, forever guarding the single item we seek.

"One of us speaks truth, and one of us speaks lies," they say in unison, flashing sharp teeth as they spoke. "You may ask one question," they continue, "if you correctly figure it out, you may pass."

We huddle discussing the question we should ask.

"What if we ask it who the truth speaker is?"

"No, they would both say they were the truth speaker, that wouldn't get us anywhere."

"I've got this," a short blonde pushed her way to the front of the group, a grin on her face.

"No no wait-"

"What is 2+2?" She shouts to the godly beings.

They look down at her, "4" one declares.

"7" the other one replies with equal confidence.

"You," she points to the one that replied with 7, "are the liar."

And the beasts stood aside, wings tucked and staffs held close, to allow the adventures past the gates and retrieve the item they came for.
