Entangled

Chapter 2

I stood by the copying machine, waiting for my copies to finish. "Are you almost finished with the printer?" "Yeah. I'm almost-" my voice cut off when my eyes met his. Mr. Kyle was somewhat grinning at me. I cleared my throat and regained my posture. I grabbed my copies. "Yes, I'm done with the printer." I walked past him. I walked back to my office and got settled. I started to file them when one of my colleagues, Andrew, entered my office.

"Need something, Andrew?" I asked, plastering the nicest smile that I could conduct. "Nope, I just came to see my favorite coworker and my best friend." Andrew took a seat in one of my chairs. "Drew, you're gonna get in trouble." "I ain't worried about him." I chuckled a little. "What are you doing anyway?" He asks, leaning on my desk. "Paperwork." Andrew stared at me. "Let's hang out tonight. We're off tomorrow anyway so why not." Andrew suggested. "Sounds good to me. So what's on your mind?" "Movie at your place. I bring snacks, drinks, and of course the movie. You just have things set up." "Sounds like a plan." "See you at 9 and I'll call ahead of time in case I have to cancel." "Alright." Andrew left my office. I occupied myself again with my work, desperately waiting for the day to be over. As always, time is never on my side. Knock! Knock! Mr. Kyle entered my office.

"Mr. Hale has taken an interest in you I  see." Mr. Kyle flashed me a smile. "Andrew and I are just friends, besides it doesn't concern you." I stood and walked over to my nearby filing cabinet. "It does concern me." "Oh?" I bent down a bit so I could easily see the labels. "When another man sets his eyes on my prize, it does concern me." I could feel his pressure behind me. I stood up fully. "Prize?" Mr. Kyle leaned in close to my ear. "I get what I want, Mercy and what I want is you. Don't think for a second that I'll give up." He kissed my ear before leaving. I stood there frozen. Prize?
