"Since when are we so under security's control?" Elisabeth stood up, leaving the couch to head to the mini bar of our backstage room. She was trying to craft the perfect plan to leave with her boyfriend, Chris, after our concert, that hadn't even started yet. She knew security wouldn't leave her alone with him, since they wouldn't trust Chris enough – he was still some new guy that Elisabeth was dating. Basically, security didn't trust anyone with us.
"Well, Elisabeth, there's no chance you're leaving alone with him, get over it," Hayley explained, killing her dream.
I was on my phone, trying to post a fresh pre-show selfie on Jupiter's Instagram account. Then, Elisabeth rushed next to me and melted on the leather couch again, making me interrupt whatever I was doing.
"Maybe if we go together, Rose?"
"I don't do pubs."
"She's an uptown girl," Hayley commented sassily.
I threw a pillow at her, which made her spill a few drops of her beer. She came back for me with the pillow, but I gestured her to stop; I wasn't sure if I was in the mood for a pillow fight.
"Yeah, only goes out with uptown boys..." Elisabeth added, and even if I wasn't looking at her, from her tone of voice, I could tell she had a wide smile stuck on her face.
"But security lets her get away with it!" Hayley finally threw the pillow back at me, distracting me.
"Damn it, Hayley," I stood up and raised my middle finger at her. To which she laughed loudly – and so did I.
"I'll be with Chris, no one will date to do anything," Elisabeth explained. "Have I showed you how tall he is, how toned his arms are, oh my God."
"We should meet him sometime, right, Rose?"
I nodded, my focus back on my phone.
Elisabeth stood up, too, frantically shaking her hands. "Would you all grow the fuck up and help me? I need ideas!"
Her nervous words were interrupted by someone knocking on the back door of the backstage area. She and Hayley jumped, letting out a gasp, before stepping back towards, away from the door. Not taking their eyes off it – like it would magically open and someone would rush in and kill them both. It was crazy how scared everyone was. Everyone – but me. I was too far gone in my own world to worry about that, too.
"Damn it!" I exclaimed, rolling my eyes as I looked at them, curled up and holding onto each other. I headed to the door, but in the end, didn't need to open it; someone from outside unlocked it and pushed it towards me.
"Chris?" Elisabeth screamed excited, as she emerged behind me.
Chris was tall, really tall. I had to lift my head up just to look at him. And with his short hair combed back, he almost looked like...
"Wait - You're..."
"Christopher," he smiled, showing me his perfectly white teeth. His eyes wandered around the backstage area, before landing back to me. Then, he stretched his hand towards me.
This time, I shook it. The last time I saw that man, we were in the parking lot, he was with a bunch of fans and he was the singer of a band I couldn't remember the name of, back in Thessaloniki. I heard Elisabeth let out a squeal, before running towards us.
