I felt something velvety touch my shoulder,  I turned my head to find Selena at my side.  She looked at my like the unicorn did the other day.

"Morning, you feel OK?" Dakota said carrying hay on a pitchfork to Selena's stall.

"Ya." I said sitting up.  I grunted with pain.  My muscles where sore and I had a major head ache.  Selena had followed Dakota to her stall to eat.  I watched as he closed the door and patted her rear.  He smiled gratefully but sadly at her.

"What's your name? I never asked." He said walking back to where I was sitting on the smooshed straw.

"Hadlee." I responded.  I slowly got off the pill of hay and stranded up.  I winced at the pain that struck at my back when I did.

"Be careful." Dakota warned me.  I partcially listened.  I walked slowly more to the center of the barn and stretched.

The barn was big, along the sides there where pens, stalls, and rooms stuffed with things.  Above the areas it was a loft. The went around the sides and back of the barn.  Near the front the loft raised about another story where there was a barn swing.  It didn't look stable though.

"Do you live here?". I asked Dakota looking at him.  He was sitting in the same spot he always does.

"Pretty much.  My family don't like me so I live here will they live in the house up the road." He raised his eyes to me.  I just nodded trying not to get personal.

"Well, thanks for taking me for the night, I better get going I need to find my sister..." My voice trailed of at the though of it.  My parents.  I had no where to go.

"I'll drive you to town.  They have people there who are safe.  We can see if we can find your sister but we come back here.  You have no where to go unless you have money for a room or other family." He said standing up coming in front of me.

"OK, we'll come back.  Just for another week then we'll find another place.". Why was I saying it so confidene that I was going to findy sister?  She easily could have died some where else.  O god.

Me led me to an old pickup truck outside of the barn.  He opened the door for me on the passenger side as I crawled in.  He shut the door and walked to the other side and loaded up.  The whole way until we saw the town was quite.

"O my god." I put my hands to my mouth ad I gasped.  Literally half of Medlow was flat.  As we closered I could see glass all over the road, trees everywhere.  Once we got to the edge of town an officer walked up to our window and knocked.  Dakota rolled down the wimdow.

"Sorry sire, no on is allowed to come in the town." The officer said.

"Please, where just here to see if we can find her sister." Dakota said kindly to the officer.  The officer looked boss with a full on mustache and aviators.

  "Her name?"

"Zenlay" I said.  Dakota nodded to the officer.

"Follow me I'll take you too city hall." He waved us to follow him as he got in the police car and drove.  We moved slowly as we turned and dodged  around the road.  On one side the housed had a few broken windows, panels missing from the roof, siding chipped.  But on the other there was nothing but scattered house pieces and broken glass.

Once we got to the city hall, we waved the officer and parked in front.  I quickly ran to the door of the building.  I opened it to the sounds of crying, yelling and people talking.  The to was very organized,  there where like sections for every family.

"Hadlee! I  soooo sorry about you parents!  I'll get you sister." May said.

May was a good friend I went to school with, normally she was a snob but she was actually being nice.

"Thank you May.  Is the school gone?" I asked her quickly.  She nodded at me, no school.  I watched her as she jogged to a door and went down some stairs.  Lots of peoplw uat have lost homes.  I watched as she walked slowly back up with my sister holing her hands.  She was alive!

"Hadlee!" She screamed and ran into me.  We both cried.

"Zenlay, I missed you." I gripped my tight on her.  She was safe in my arms.  We stood like that for a minute when a big hand landed on my shoulder.

"Time to go." Dakota said.  Zenlay didn't seem to mind him.

"OK, Zenlay, this is Dakota.  He saved me." I said smiling at both of them.  They waved hands to eachother.

"You better not mind that we are staying with him, as you know about what happened." I lowed my voice as she lowered her eyes.

"Ya let's go.  I need to explain what happened to our parents anyways."  We all nodded and packed into the old black truck.
