"AHHHH!"

Welp. This was it. The son of a powerful leader dies due to falling down a hole.

I continued screamed and shut my eyes tight, waiting to come in contact with the ground beneath me.

As I fell, I felt something wrap around my leg and bring me to a rough stop mid fall. I opened my eyes and were met with two glowing purple dots in front of me.

It let out a sigh. "He's not what we thought he'd be, now to find another three."

Before I could question it, it tossed me to the side and I bounced off of something and landed face first on the ground. I lifted myself from the ground and dusted myself off.

"Oo! So what is he!?"

A sigh of irritation was heard. "The one to fall from the sky is shown to be an ace of hearts."

"Aw."

I looked up and saw a man wearing a purple and white suit with a weird hat, and glowing blue diamonds on his cheeks was staring right at me.

"Uh, hello?"

He blinked before displaying a huge smile. "Wow! I like your accent!"

"Uh, thanks." I glanced around and tried to see who he had been talking with. All there was were huge mushrooms and overgrown plants.

"You look absolutely terrible! You must be famished, come and ill treat you to some pastries and tea! Come now, come!"

He ran off to the right and approached a small door. He opened it and somehow was able to fit inside without a hassle. I stayed where I was. The hell was even happening right now?

"Those who stay out often miss out. You best go on or risk being locked out."

I jumped. I looked around and saw no one. "Who said that?"

"Those who look left to right often leave out up and down."

I glanced up and saw that some sort of, demon? Was staring down at me. He had on some sort of blue suit and a glowing spade on his cheeks. He laid on his stomach with his elbow propping his head up. Behind him moved a glowing end of his tail of which I recognized.

"Hey, you're the reason I'm here!"

He lifted an eyebrow and rolled over to lay on his back.

"To throw the blame is not the game, thus the game is whos to win."

"...what?"

He let out a sign.

"To throw the blame is not the game, thus the game is whos to win."

That was absolutely no help at all.

"Alright then, what's the game?"

He sprung up and jumped down to me. He was much shorter than I had expected, not by much, but still short. His glowing eyes were inches away from mine.

"To win the game one must learn to live within the other world. If the game is not won, then another ones ensured to turn."

"Alright can you stop with the rhyming? I'm not understanding anything you've said."

He let out an annoyed growl. "To speak in rhythms is my crime, to speak non rhythms is my flaw."

Before answering back, I noticed how close we were to each other. I got a little warm to the face and backed away.

"Ok! Uh, let's go see what the other guy is going huh?"

"Matt is the baker of the west, to dine with him can be quite the quest."

I huffed and turned away. As I approached the tiny door, it began to no longer be a tiny door, but become bigger and bigger with every step. When I reached it, I couldn't even get up to the door knob.

"The doors of here are not quite clear, to reach the knob one must find the pawn."

"Pawn? Is that some sort of chess reference?"

He nodded. "Although chess is indeed a game, take into account this life's not a play."

"I swear to whatever is in the sky if you keep talking in rhythms I am going to lose it."

He glared at me and huffed. Then before my very eyes, his body began to disappear, leaving his glowing eyes behind for a split second before disappearing as well with a bit of a sparkle.

I looked around and saw no sign of him. "Wait! Come back!"

I listened for any movement and heard nothing but silence. I let out an annoyed sigh before hearing something unlock. The sound came from the other side of the pit, so with a swift turn I look behind to see a man in all green with green glowing clubs on his cheeks walk out of a bigger door.

"Hey! Hey can you help me!?"

He looked over at me in surprise and reluctantly nodded. I quickly jogged over to him but the closer I got, the smaller the door got.

"Ok what so going on here?! That door looks small but is too big, and this one looked big but it's too small!"

He let out a laugh and shook his head. "Let me guess, you just fell here recently?"

I nodded.

"That explains it. Things around here aren't what they seem, but I'm sure you already figured that out already. Just let the one with spades guide you and you'll be fine."

"Nonono wait-"

He slammed the door shut and the silence took over again. I let out a frustrated scream and turned to the mushrooms I started at. I marched over to them and shouted.

"ALRIGHT YOU NO GOOD RHYMER' YOU'VE HAD YOUR FUN NOW COME OUT!"

I huffed. I looked around but there so no sign of the one with the spades. I sighed.

"I saID-"

"HEY!"

My head snapped towards the one with diamonds on his cheeks.

"I'm TRYING to get some work done here!"

"You- YOU WHERE IS THE ONE WITH SPADES!"

"I DONT KNOW!"

I groaned. "THEN CAN YOU HELP ME?"

"SURE!"

I ran to his door once more and was annoyed to find that the door was just my size.

"Come on in! I've made pastries and teas!"

I mumbled a thanks as I walked in, and just stayed outside.
