Chapter 6

After hearing a crash, I tiredly opened my eyes to see Tom cleaning something off the ground. I slowly rose from the way too big bed and lacked out to him.

"What are you doing?"

He quickly turned back to me with an annoyed look. "A bottle I dropped met the floor, now if you would so please stay off the wood."

I watched as he picked up as much glass as he could and mopped the spilled contents. I caught myself admiring his glowing tail each time it would swing by. I guess tails here are something sexual because as soon as he caught me staring, he turned red and wouldn't look back at me. There wasn't much to do, so I only looked around and ended up looking their the bag that Edd had given me.

There were a few bottles of colorful liquids and the only food were weird looking muffins and the muffin I still had in my pocket. Come to think of it, I was a little hungry. I took the muffin out and and went for a bite but to then be stopped my Tom. He still wasn't looking at me though. "If you are hungry just say so, put down the muffin and I shall get you something else."

I only nodded in return. Not a moment after he brought me a plate of food. "Finish what you can and ill eat the rest. Just fill up and then we can set out."

With no hesitation I ate whatever it was that he gave me. Bite after bite I tried to finish it all. I saw him try and grab the bag that was too small for him and he sighed. "Did Edd per chance leave me something? Something blue or even new?" I met his eyes and finished chewing.

"Yeah, here ill get it for you." I reached for the blue bottle and he put down a cup of tea. He motioned to it so I approached it and uncapped it. He lowered his hand to me and gave me a small boost to reach the his tea. I glanced at him for a final approval, and poured the blue liquid into the tea.

Tom set me back down and picked up his tea. Taking a sip, I watched as he drank it all, making a face that was not pleased at all.

"Finally! I swear this took Edd far to long to make. What are you staring at?"

I was stunned to say the least. "Tom. You're speaking normally!? Where is all the rhymes and non sense?!"

He rolled his eyes set his cup down. "Well if you couldn't already tell, the drink lets me speak in non rhymes. Also stop staring at my tail you weirdo, its like staring at a girls boobs here."

Turning red and embarrassed I got defensive. "Well sorry! Tail aren't something normal where I'm from!"

"Whatever. Well come on, finish eating we have to go."

I returned to my food, but asked questions. "So Tom, why do you rhyme?"

"Dont worry about it."

"Okay, oh then what happened to Edd and Matt?"

He groined at my questions. "They got taken to court. Don't worry, they'll be fine. Now hurry up and eat."

"Geez, why do you want me to hurry?"

"Because now that the Guards of Cards are on the Cheshire's case and now have Edd and Matt, we need to get you back to the surface as soon as possible."

"But why? You didn't seem to be in a rush earlier."

"BECAUSE the GUYS were still HERE! If you remember your chat with Edd, I'm not too popular in the eyes of the law. They already have been hiding me from the law, so now I have to return the favor."

I nodded, and with my mouth still full, I asked a question that seemed to tick him off. "Oh, I see. But what is this Cheshire I keep hearing about and why do they have to attend court?"

His breath hitched and he looked down. "That is nothing to worry about. Come on, I know a way to get you home but we have to move quick. Security should only be at the café, but we need to go back for Edds universal keys."

He picked me up and went for the door. "Universal keys? And wouldn't it be smarter to go at night?"

"Bloody hell you sure talk a lot. Just loosen up and go with it. Also, you don't think Edd just appears anywhere he wants by magic do you? His keys will let us open a door to wherever we want. And you're from an army base so you should know that security gets heavier at night so nows our best chance. Now shut up and just go with it."

I stayed silent and huffed. I laid down in his palm and looked up at his eyes. I watched them glow and felt myself get red. Damn he's hot when he's stern.
