Don't you think this is really ironic?”

“Ironic what?”

“That, You are an American, I’m on my work visa...still I’m the one showing you around. Your own country?” Kiyah said while eating her fries. The whole day we were together. She showed me around and after the long day, we came to Rico's for dinner.

“Ohh..that. Yes, I know. But it's fun. Got to know about this city from your pov. Honestly, I might be an American but these things never excite me. You can say, For us Americans, these things are very normal.”

I see. Have you been to NYC before?”

“Yes.3 years back. But I can't remember anything.”

Why?”

“Ummm…..”

“It's fine if you don't feel comfortable”

“No Kiyah..The thing is, I had an accident 3 years back. Lost my memories.”

“All of your memories?” She asked with eyes wide open.

“No! I remember everything but some moments. Like I had lived 1 year in NYC. And I guess I was dating someone. I remember everything but that time.”

The only Year you lived in NYC?”

Yes. Doctors believe that one year was very hard for me with some bitter memories that’s why my brain does not want to remember it.”

“I understand. I mean I don’t know what to say.”

“Hahaha! It's fine Kiyah. Things happen. Life goes on. I’ve accepted it and it's fine. I am sorry, I did not intend to ruin this dinner by telling you this"

"No Ryan! It's fine. And I appreciate this. I'm happy you told me about your past."

"Thank you Kiyah. You're really sweet. So shall we clear the bill and call it a night?"

" Why? Because you're tired or you didn't like my company huh?"

Haha, Kiyah was so sweet. She doesn't even know that she's the best thing that happened to me in NYC. Her sweet and caring nature. Her big eyes. Her talks. How someone can not enjoy her company. Doesn't she know it?

"No, It's not like that. I thought you might be getting late and El might be waiting for you"

"El will stay at John's place. I was thinking if we could...ummm..go to my home. Don't take me the wrong way, I just want to show you something. One last place to go for an NYC tour. I promise it'll be worth your time and you'll not regret it."

"Haha. Okay. Let's go"

We went to her apartment. She gave me a blanket and asked me to wait for her on the rooftop.

By the time I reached the rooftop, Kiyah also came with two hot chocolates in her hand. She handed me one hot chocolate and signed me to look at something.

And when I turned, The view I saw was breathtaking. I could see the whole of NYC from the rooftop. The big buildings. Lights. Everything.

"So did you like it?"

"So did you like it?"

"I love it."

"Here take the blanket"

She gave me the blanket and in a couple of seconds, we were sharing the blanket and sipping our hot chocolate.

"I really like to enjoy my hot chocolate and looking at this view. Gives me an existential crisis. Haha"

"Existential crisis? How? Please elaborate" I said

"Well, you know the feeling when you reach the highest point and everything looks so small. So tiny. And you start thinking why are you doing all this? One day we all will die so what's the point? And am I doing everything for my money or because I'm passionate about it."

"Well, Kiyah. That's ...deep"

"Haha. Yes. I love this feeling. Existential crises can be positive too. It's good to question yourself and introspect, right?"

"Right"

"Ohho! Your hot chocolate is getting cold. Drink no. I know I'm not good at cooking but it's not that bad."

"It's not that ….I want to Thank you Kiyah."

"Because I made you hot chocolate?"

"No. Because...ummm….I don't know. Just Thankyou."

Thank You for your company.  Thank you, for making me realise how beautiful it is to enjoy little things. Thank you for adding colours to my life.

"Ohho! Ryan. You're so sweet. Anyway, finish your hot chocolate and let's go. I don't want you to catch a cold.''

"Haha. Yes"

"And, El texted me. She said you can crash on the sofa today"

"Oh. Okay. I think I'm gonna crash here. Too tired to go Home. You're comfortable right?"

"Haha. No issue. Goodnight Ryan"

"Goodnight. Kiyah"
