Emma and Gilda hugged each other. (Y/N) sighed and walked to the front of the group, next to Norman.
"Guys, it's okay. Let's her her out." Norman says, trying to relieve any panic.
"He's right. We should each cooperate to achieve our goals." Krone agrees.
"Each of our... goals?" Emma repeats.
"Yes." Krone points at us. "You kids want to escape. And I want to become mom of this house." She gestures to herself. I want to drag Isabella down from mom position and take her place."
"Mom position..?" Don mumbles.
"What I'm saying is the truth. I want to break free too." She lowers the collar of her shirt. "From my current situation."
The other children were shocked. (Y/N) just calmly watched Sister Krone speak.
The Sister, notices of course. "I don't like you, (Y/N). It's as if you know everything."
(Y/N) narrows her eyes slightly at this, but keeps her expression calm.
Krone looks back at the rest of the group. "Are you aware of the management system at Grace Field House?"
"Huh?" Gilda asks.
"Girls who fulfill certain conditions and live until twelve years old are presented with two paths when they're about to be shipped." Krone explains. "One, continue as they are and die. And two, to aim to become a mom."
"What are the conditions?" Don asks.
"Scores above a certain number, and a moms recommendation." She answers. "If you can meet those two requirements, you can survive without escaping. If you're a girl, at least."
Emma and Gilda both look appalled.
"But, I don't recommend that path." She unbuttons the top 3 buttons on her shirt, to reveal a scar on her chest. "They'll make it so you never have a chance to leave this area."
Everyone gaped at this. Even (Y/N)'s mouth dropped a little.
"You all still have a chance to run away."
"What... is that?" Emma steps forward and asks.
"A chip. If an adult steps outside of the farm, an electrical current will be sent through this and her heart will stop. And at the same time, if something makes her heart stop, it acts as a transmitter that notifies the higher-ups." Sister Krone explains. "I can only live on the farms. That's why I want to live the best possible life here. As a mom. And even if it's fake, to live as a human. Playing house as a mother, surrounded by a warm family, cute children and their adorable love for me. But to get that, the current mom, Isabella, is in the way." She smirks. "I want to remove her."
(Y/N) finally closes her mouth, looking at the enthusiastic woman.
"If you all escape, she will be blamed, and she'll be gone!" Krone opens her arms. "I won't stop you. Escape. That'll be beneficial to me."
"So you're not going to ship us out?" Gilda meekly asks. "We're the targets."
"I won't. Let's cooperate. We have the same enemy in Mom Isabella." Krone assures her. "Let's work together to oust her."
(Y/N) squints at the woman. 'She can't! It's not that she won't, she'll do it anyway when she gets control of the house. But is unable.'
She turns to Norman. "Let's join forces.♥"
Norman reaches out to shake her hand, but Emma stops him.
"Wait." She says, making everyone look at her. "I agree with Norman's decision. but I want to make sure of something with Sister Krone right now."
"What is it?" Krone asks.
"Where's the guarantee you won't betray us?"
"Aw, you don't trust me?"
"Just answer!" Emma yells.
"Ray." She answers simply. "If Ray tells on me to Mom, you can destroy me. But if I tell Mom what Ray's really been doing, I can destroy him. That's why neither of us will betray the other, because we can't. How's that for an answer?"
(Y/N) scoffs and looks away, but all the attention goes to her.
"You have anything to say, (Y/N)?" Krone asks the girl.
She looks at the adult dead in the eye, before shaking her head.
"Okay." Emma answers the sister's original question.
"Then it's a deal." Her and Norman shake hands.
"So you were also raised on a farm." Don says.
"Yes. The same Grace Field House." Krone replies. "But not here at Plant 3."
(Y/N) rolls her eyes. She'd already known that there were other orphanages.
"I'm willing to share any information. Things only I can tell you. Proof of goodwill. Why don't you come to my room tonight?" She turns to look at Gilda. "Ah, don't be so frightened, Gilda. I'm not mad at you. In fact, I'm grateful. After all, it was because you two made waves that I was actually able to specify the targets."
That seeps into everyone's brains.
"I'll see you later!♥" She walks away from the group of children.
"Don't worry about it. This is good." Norman assures the group. "And (Y/N), I didn't even notice you until you walked to the front."
(Y/N) just shrugs at that comment. 'Good to know I'm still invisible.'
"But now we don't have to worry about distracting Sister Krone during our inspection." he points out. "Ray can handle distracting Mom. We can focus solely on the job."
"'Live in the best possible way.' She said." Emma quotes. "She was one of us too. And yet she thinks that continuing to watch children get killed is the best way to live. That it's a way for humans to live." Emma grows angrier by the second. "She really doesn't think anything of the lives of children!"
"Yeah. She still plans on shipping us out." Norman informs them. "But because she doesn't have evidence, authority and trust, she can't get us shipped out right now."
"So... she'll turn on us if she gets one of those..." (Y/N) contributes.
"But this situation is favorable for us." Norman says, bringing up some hope. "Authority and trust aren't that easy to gain. As long as we don't give her evidence Sister Krone will have no choice but to let us escape." Norman turns around. "Even if it's just pretend, we'll form an alliance with her."
...
(Y/N) watches from the corner of the dark hallway as Emma knocks on Sister Krone's door.
It creaks open, and Krone is at the doorframe. "Welcome. Now... what would you like to know?"
