"What?" Ray turns to her.
She shoves to book over to him as he skims over the page.
Emma comes over too. "Oh! Look at all of the similarities!" She exclaims. "A cave, jewels, and snakes! It was all about this tree!"
"...A survival guide..." (Y/N) whispers. She cracks a smile. She grabs both of Rays shoulders before forcing him around. She opens his pack and grabs a spare cup. She then hands it to him.
"What do you...?" He asks, looking at the cup in his hands.
"...Throw it." She instructs him, pointing at the vine-made wall.
"O...kay?" He turns to face the group. "Everyone move back! I'm going to be throwing something, and it might be dangerous." He turns back around to face (Y/N), and they nod at each other. His right arm swings back before he moves forward and releases the cup.
The pottery touches the vines, and two come down and snap it in half.
"I knew it! By contact!" Emma exclaims.
"Hey! What do we do?" Chris frantically tugs on Emma's shirt. "The vines keep growing and coming closer!"
(Y/N) walks into the mess of branches and t-poses. She chuckles softly. She claps once, gathering everyone's attention.
"(Y/N)!" Ray yells.
She gives him a thumbs-up. "I'm... not touching it."
"It's not scary. Let's calm down." Emma says. "As long as we don't touch the tips of the roots, and (Y/N) has demonstrated, nothing happens, and they retract."
"Listen carefully." Ray turns to the group.
(Y/N) comes back from her demonstration.
"We're going to climb back up the tree in the back to escape. Just like our original plan." Ray points upwards. "Before the roots on the wall catch up to us. You guys can do it. Climbing trees was part of your training, right?"
(Y/N) looks at the crowd, and sees Nat's face unsure.
"Can we get out?" Gilda asks. "As long as we go through the top, can we go through the top to above ground? With everyone?"
"Yeah!" Emma says optimistically.
"Then lets go, everyone!" The glasses-girl says.
"Okay!" The group collectively yells.
"And let's get out of here!"
A group of 4 grab start climbing the roots of the tree, and (Y/N) stays down to catch the kids if they fall. The 4 get up to the surface and grab a rope, before sending it down, ready to pull up other kids.
