"Just... Just trust me. This book is very powerful and very dangerous. We must never open it again."

Douxie looks at me, sharing the same nervous-confusion look on his face as me. He glances at Archie and then at the book in my arms.

"Promise me, you two."

"If you say it's that important.... Then I promise." I vow,

Douxie nods as to agree,

"I promise."

"Good. Now, let us return to the apartment and prepare for the worst."

"Ok, that's probably for the best anyway." Says Douxie.

"Yeah, you're both right,"

"Alright then, along we go."

We all keep our guards up as we head back to the apartment.

(Day of the Battle of the Bands)

I have a bad feeling about today...

"Love? If you keep that gloomy face on, you're going to ruin the battle of the bands," Douxie tells me, being smart.

"Douxie, dear, you know just as well as I do that we have more important things to worry about than some musical face-off." I say hushed,

"Appearances are everything, too, love."

I roll my eyes, right before I hear a pair of shrills from behind me.

I turn around and see Darci plus Mary running up to me, looking excited for today.

"Arya! You suck, girl!" Darci says, sternly.

I arch an eyebrow, confused,

"How so?" I ask.

Mary scoffs and shakes her head.

"You missed, like, ALL of our rehearsals! You literally won't be able to play with us today!"

"Not that it'll matter to you." Darci snips.

Douxie hisses, teasing me. I shoot him a look.

"What do you mean 'it won't matter to me'? Of course, it matters."

"If it really mattered, you wouldn't have signed up going solo!"

Darci holds up a picture of my name signed alone on the list. They both shoot me glares.

I deadpan.

"Oh, I forgot I signed up alone...! Damnit!"

"Yeah right."

I grab both their wrists,

"No, look, I am SO sorry!! I've just been super, super busy with--"

"With what?" Mary barks,

I quickly glance over at Douxie and see him shake his head.

"I ... can't tell you guys. Not until it's all over."

"Until what's over?"

"Trust me, you'll know it when you see it." I sigh, "But I will make it up to you guys."
