______________

the brunette sat at the desk was pulled from his thoughts because of a voice behind him questioning, "can I help you?".

george turned around to see clay stood, torso exposed leaning on the chair, but a few inches behind him, the male smiled before saying, "sure,".

the blonde smiled childishly down at the teen, before pulling another chair from under the desk and putting it beside the older boys one. once there, he pulled the notepad towards him curiously and began reading what was wrote in it.

after around ten seconds, he looked back up and giggled, "that sounds sad,".

george shrugged in response, pulling it back towards him.

the male looked back down at his work before once again trying to figure out what lyrics he was going to use. he also decided that once he'd done one more verse, he was going to meet up with adrian, nick and harvey. the brunette was kind of scared to see harvey after last nights events, but knew he wouldn't be able to hide forever. the blonde next to him who hadn't took his eyes off of him could possibly come aswell, if he wanted to that is.

after a while of thinking, george settled on the next verse repeating one of the previous ones.

'so i try to laugh about it,'.

'cover it all up with lies,'.

'i try to laugh about it,'.

'hiding the tears in my eyes,'.

'cause boys don't cry,'.

'boys don't cry,'.

it was around midday by now, so george decided it would be a good time to get changed. to get changed into something more his style, he would need to go back home and get some stuff to put on.

"can we go to my house to get some clothes?" george smiled whilst looking over at the other boy who was still admiring him.

"oh uhm yeah," clay smiled in return, snapping out of his trance.

george then proceeded to close his notepad and slot it back into his guitar case. the pair then got up from their seats, clay walked to the door, while the brunette went to the corner of the room to get his clothes from last night.

the clothes were neatly folded in a pile, aswell as his shoes which he slipped on. he then walked towards the blonde who was waiting for him, and then down the stairs.

clay picked up two apples for them while in the kitchen and then proceeded to throw one of them jokingly at george who barely caught it.

"clay!" the brunette laughed, holding the apple tight in his grasp, whilst the blonde laughed at him.

the pair smiled before exiting the house and walking towards the car, which as expected was parked in the drive way. they both got into the vehicle and the engine soon started.

the drive to georges house was average, meaning it was filled with laughter. soon, they arrived at the brunettes house, parked and went to the front door.

"george?" a monotonous voice inquired from the downstairs office when they entered the house.

"yeah, dad it's me," the addressed boy shouted back, hastily making his way towards the stairs with Clay by his side.

"where were you last night?" the teens dad implored as he entered the corridor where the other two boys were.

"i- uh," george began, his eyes widening as he attempted to think of an alibi.

the mans stare positioned itself on Clay and he then questioned, "why is he here?".

"tell me the real reason," the middle aged man retorted, forcing george to look at him.

at this, clay had, had enough and snapped, "he was tired so I took him back to my place,".

the man furrowed his eyebrows for a second before he walked away, not sparing the pair another word.

"thanks?" george muttered, giving the other boy a thankful grin.

"anytime," clay smiled before they continued their walk to his room.

once inside there, the blonde collapsed onto the bed, messing up the neatly made duvet, whilst the older boy opened his drawers, looking for something to wear. he finally decided on a pair of cargos and a band-tee.

although the pair were growing to be close, they weren't close enough that they'd feel comfortable getting changed around each other, so george stepped into his bathroom.

he got changed hastily and brushing his teeth, before walking back into his bedroom.

"you look nice," the blonde grinned, pulling the standing brunette closer and into an embrace, his hands resting on his waist.

the embrace was ruined by a telephone in the hallway whirring uncontrollably. george groaned before making his way out of the room and towards it.

he picked the object of the wall and muttered into it, "hello?".

"hi," a familiar voice exclaimed.

"who's this?".

"harvey,".

"oh uhm hi," george stuttered, not wanting to make it awkward, but failing miserably.

"me and the group are meeting up to discuss the lyrics of the next song, do you want to come?".

"'kay," george agreed.

george was already planning on asking him this, so it was sort of a relief for him.

"we can maybe talk about what happened last night aswell, or continue it, i don't mind,".

the brunettes eyes widened as he let out an unconvincing laugh before saying , "i'll uh see you soon,".

after that, he hung up and walked back to his room. clay was sat sulking on his bed, waiting for the boys arrival.

george smiled at the sight before sighing, "cmon, we're going somewhere,".
