Monique's POV
Once Diamond and Daniel are off to school. I prepare to take the twins to Andre's parent's, so I can meet with the funeral home for arrangements. I can't believe you're really gone Andre.
"We got them and be strong daughter-in-law. Lord knows we cry every night."
"Okay." I'm headed to the funeral home when someone almost hits me while running a red light. "Look here. Not today Satan." I say out loud. When I'm at the funeral home I'm given the chance to see Andre's body.
Don't cry. Don't cry. "Here he is." The morgue opens the door then closes out when I'm in the room. Inhaling, I walk closer to the casket to look at him. After a while, I exhale a breath I know I was holding.
I couldn't help it anymore. Tears filled my eyes. The way his body had been bruised, I just couldn't and I cried. The morgue comes to ask if I was okay.
I simply shook my head. "What happened?"
"You sure you can handle that info?"
"Yes." I said.
"According to the people around at the time. Someone who witnessed it firsthand told the ambulance that he was walking around the sour looking for ingredients or something."
"Here has these two cute babies with him and before anyone knew it, shots rang out, he was trying to get out the store but he managed to get shot in the back 5 times before struggling to get the babies in the car. Then he managed to get them to safety before coming here. This is where he died."
I was crying and didn't even know it until the morgue gave me tissues. "If he had survived, he would've been paralyzed for the rest of his life."
I wipe my tears and finally ready myself to handle funeral arrangements.
