MARIANA SAT ALONE IN THE
auditorium, along with the rest of the town who was at beacon hills high school for the recital to honor the students and adults, who's lives were taken too early. she thought it was sad, really. no one would ever know the real reason why death chose the young scholars or school staff members. everyone would just remember them as victims of life. mariana would remember them as victims of the supernatural.the parker child's eyes landed on aiden, who was looking back at someone. she turned her head to see he was staring at lydia. mariana hadn't really gone to school in the past few days. she was too caught up in wanting to research and find what she could. she'd also been having break downs. all related to the mikealsons. she had been going through an identity crisis, not really knowing what to do.
but stiles had helped with that. she was very moved when stiles has given her a thick pile of paper held together by several clips. in all honestly, stiles had been the only person she ever really talked to in these past few days. she was growing less and less angry at the boy. as she got to know him more, she kind of understood his lack of trust. he had a kind heart. and it was very easy to see.
she didn't even realize she zoned out whilst staring at the girl until lydia looked to her phone and exiting the auditorium a few seconds later, causing mariana to stand from her seat and follow the girl. "lydia" the brunette spoke, startling the martin child as she turned around, not forgetting to yelp. "jesus, you scared the shit out of me, ana" lydia breathed out, "what are you doing here?"
"i could ask you the same thing" mariana retorted. "aiden asked me to meet him but i can't find him". the girl furrowed her eyebrows in confusion, "he was sitting next to ethan in the auditorium and didn't seem to be in a rush to anything" she claimed. before the soft red head could reply, a small clatter was heard in a classroom. the two girls snapped their heads in the direction, giving each other a wary look.
they both grew uneasy at the sound of echoing chanting. they cautiously made their way to the room, looking around to find nothing. "you recognize it, don't you?" a voice spoke out, the two girl softly gasping as they turned it's way. they were met with ms. blake who slapped the girls unconscious.

mariana woke up as she groaned, moving her hand to her head as she felt liquid dripping down her face. her attempt was nothing but a fail, seeing her hands and legs were tied to a chair. she looked up, seeing ms. blake tying lydia the same way. the two had woken up about the same time. "what are you doing?" lydia croaked.
"what's necessary" ms. blake replied, "i'm still surprised none of you seem to get that" she spoke as it were obvious. "you call them sacrifices, but you're not understanding the word. it's derived from the latin 'sacrificium': an offering to a deity. a sacred rite. a necessary evil"
"stop" mariana interrupted, hoping it would actually do something. "oh, i wish i could. but you don't know the alphas like i do" she glowered. "please stop" lydia whispered, her eyes brimming with tears. "but you, lydia, you're not a sacrifice. you're just a girl who knows too much" she spoke as she moved her way behind the girl, pulling a wire out her pocket, "actually— a girl who knew too much" she said, wrapping the wire around her neck.
