"In what way are you proposing I stop him?" Geline asked

"In what way are you proposing I stop him?" Geline asked.

"We mold you into a woman of high society so that you may impose yourself into certain social circles. You listen to the gossip and the rumors the young women and men are spreading," Daniel said, as he began to pace around the room again, speaking as if he were working through his thoughts on the fly.

"We arrange for you to meet Andrew Drummond, at a ball or some meticulously planned event. We ensure this happens several times so that you two may become close, making other women less desirable. By doing this, you can force your way into the lives of the Drummonds, and we can gather intel on exactly what they know. If we can know who they plan to attack next, we can have the upper hand."

Evangeline and Daniel stared at one another, and the latter smiled, proud of his impromptu strategy. She liked the thought of helping, of being a key player instead of working in the shadows. With the Grail plot, she had been mostly kept out of the loop, destined to fend for herself and aid Jack simultaneously. By agreeing with Daniel, she would be on the frontlines, directly keeping those around her safe.

"Ya want to use Evangeline as a pawn?" Jack asked, his eyes quickly forming into slits as he glared at his brother. "As a pseudo-prostitute for information?"

"You're being dramatic," Daniel insisted. "She'd play the part of a true Londonite, not a trollop."

"You must admit, Jack; it's a damn good plan," Gibbs muttered, shrugging his shoulders.

"It is," Geline said, and Jack whipped around to look at her in surprise. "I could help."

"No," he said, shaking his head vigorously.

"Jack, no one knows who she is. They'd be none the wiser-"

"I know who she bloody is," Jack hissed. "I am not sending her into some ridiculous plot thought up by you, of all people."

"Jack, we should at least entertain it-" Geline started, but Jack cut her off again.

"No! Absolutely not. We will find someone else."

"Oh, for God's sake, Jack. There is no one else," Daniel sighed. "And who are you to speak for the lady?"

"He doesn't speak for m-"

"We will find someone else. I will not sacrifice her safety!"

"I want to help!" Evangeline pleaded.

"No!" Jack barked at her, his nostrils flared, and Geline felt the mood in the room change. She waited for him to calm, for his eyes to settle on her in kindness, but they didn't. He did not apologize nor come to his senses. He stared at her in resolution.
