     The silence was louder than ever. Everyone just picking at their food. There would be slight talking, but only for a second.

The silence ended up being broken.

"So rue sweetie, how's it been? You never call anymore!"

"It's been good mom."

"That's it? Come on! Give me full detail! I want to know everything!" The mother said with a smile rue couldn't resist smiling back at.

"Well, the music career hasn't gone to shit. Meeting my biggest fan in a few days. More friends I guess? I don't know how to explain it. A lot has happened."

"Interesting. Any boy in the picture?"

Rue spit out a little of her water that she was currently drinking. Nicks eyes going a little wider, pidges eyes going from her food to the girl. And rues father turning to his daughter.

"Well uhh."

She didn't really know what to say.

"No. Not in that way."

"Well what way then?" Pidge interrupted, slightly smirking at the girl. She knew something the parents nor Nick didn't.

"Pidge what the hell is that supposed to mean?" Nick said turning to her then his sister.

"No no no I DO NOT want to be the one to start a family argument!" The girl stated while moving her arms and hands in a dramatic way.

"Rue?" Nick said facing the girl.

"Nick it's nothing!"

"Nothing? You've been talking to a guy all this time and you didn't tell me?! But you tell pidge!?" The boy said, obviously being dramatic as a joke. He also rarely used pidge to refer to the girl. Only used it when he was being funny or serious. You never could tell. That's the scary part.

Rue chuckled.

"It's not like that!"

"That's not what you told me when you called me at four in the morning because he called you only to tell you that you looked pretty with braids that one time!" Pidge shouted from the kitchen where she was getting a drink from the refrigerator.

"Bellamore sweetie! The dr. Peppers are above the fruits! Also rue I don't think it's very healthy to be awake at four in the morning, but good for you for finding a boy like that!"

"MOM! PLEASE LIKE I SAID ITS NOT LIKE THAT."

"Okay yeah whatever you say ruby." Their mother said in a sarcastic tone.

"What's his name?" Rues father came in.

"Is it karl?" Nick said before the girl opened her mouth.

Rue doesn't respond. She just sits there with her finger being pointed at her father while looking at her brother with her mouth slightly open.

"IT IS KARL!" Nick said while getting up out of his chair in excitement.

"MR. LOCKWILD YOU OWE ME FIFTY BUCKS."

"YOU MADE A BET WITH MY DAD?!" Pidge yelled coming back to the room she was in.

Nick responded with a nod while laughing.

"ARTHUR WHY?" Rue said while facing the man who was currently on the couch watching the people from the other side.

"I thought it was good way to make money. Boy was I wrong." The man shrugged while getting up to give the boy the money he bet.

"ANYWAYS. Me and Karl are just friends! We just...sometimes..I don't know." Rue said while taking her plate to the kitchen.

"It's alright to not know sometimes ruby!" Their mother said.
