The next few days went without major events, but still something was happening. I regularly spent eight hours at work, where I literally got used to it, and I spent all my free time with the boys on the playground or at their home in the garden or in the villa. Sometimes I even wondered if it didn't bother Max anymore, but he obviously didn't care and so did I. I had his consent and I didn't need it anymore.

I only met him a few times at their house, and even that wasn't entirely sane. I suspected that he indulged in alcohol in his spare time. He only greeted me briefly, we exchanged a few courtesy words and then he disappeared somewhere inside his palace. Why is such a huge house for anyone? Did he actually know how many windows, rooms and corridors he had to wash when he bought them? Probably not or from the beginning he was counting on a janitor.

I was a little scared of Max. He had a face with eyes once as dark as a summer storm, sometimes as light as polished silver, distinctive cheekbones, a perfectly shaped nose, meaning neither small nor large, gently arched eyebrows, and thick dark brown hair. And to make matters worse, he had incredibly sensual lips that, whenever I saw them, I wanted to taste them.

But when he wanted to, he knew how to scare a man. Many times, when he looked at me with his dark eyes, I felt all the hair on my neck bristle.

"Hey, you," he said. If I hadn't considered the not-so-nice welcome, his tone was surprisingly tender.

"Me?" I asked, looking around to see if he meant anyone else. He didn't think we were there alone.

"Come here," he motioned for me to come closer to him. "You're Kirsten, aren't you?"

"Yes," I agreed. Not to be surprised that you remembered my name, rather that he addressed me. So far, he's just nodded to me with his head or his hand to indicate that he was perceiving me, but he didn't take me by the word. "Has something happened?"

"No," he stomped from foot to foot, which didn't add much to my self-confidence. "But I need a little maid from you."

It was getting pretty weird. "What's the matter?"

"In the evening we have a match outside the city and we will not return until sometime tomorrow. Couldn't you stay here for the night and watch the boys? " the urgency in his voice made me agree, even though I knew I had a shift in the cafe tomorrow from eleven.

"Okay," I smiled. "I'll watch them, why not," I agreed immediately, for the thought of the boys spending the night and the day alone in the villa terrified me. After all, they were still boys and they certainly wouldn't even sleep because of fear. I had planned to ask Caroline if she could guard them tomorrow, and if not, I had another chance. Call an eye who certainly wouldn't turn me down. He liked children, he knew how to win with them, and no child could resist him for his famous humor.

"Are you sure?" he looked at me with narrowed eyes.

"Sure," I assured him. "But I'll take them to sleep in my apartment. The boys have already been visiting me and I'm not far away. "

You studied my silence with my eyes. Apparently the question ran out to him when the boys had already managed to come home to me.

"I know you probably don't like it, but the boys will also benefit from a little change. Tomorrow is Saturday and they don't have to go to school, so let them have some fun. Of course, I will write you my address and give you my phone number if you promise not to share it in the locker room with your friends, "I joked.

He snorted in disgust. "Why would I do that?"

"To diversify my life?" I replied with a counter-question.
