Prologue

Gumuhit ang ngiti sa labi ko ng tingnan ko ang repleksyon ng sarili ko sa salamin, suot ang red half mask na tanging mga mata ko lang ang nakikita.

Perfect.

I removed the denim jacket  leaving my body in two piece red garments. I traced my waist down to my butt and damn! I'm the hottest.

I stared at my reflection in the mirror for the last time bago tuluyang pumasok si Minnie upang tawagin ako. The groom will be aroused for sure, huwag lang sana magbago ang isip nya at biglang umatras sa kasal nya.

"L, Ready ka na ba?"  Minnie asked, I smiled at her and nodded. L  is just a code name that I use here, walang nakakaalam ng totoong identity ko.

Anyway, I work as a dance entertainer but not a stripper. Hindi naman ako maghuhubad dito at walang ititirang saplot sa katawan ko. I'm just here to perform and entertain the groom, that's it. Period.

I don't have a choice but to do this, to support myself, because I ran away from home, a place I don't want to be part of.  I couldn't feel anything in my heart but pain, sadness and there were tears of fear in everything.

There were a lot of things that I wanted to say, but fear swallowed me every single time. I get knots in my stomach when I try to speak. I'm screaming but no one can hear me. For a very long time I've been all alone fighting the battles I can't seem to win.

But now everything has changed.. Beyond what my eyes can see.. it's clear to me now how good my life can be.
