Thirty Four

"Love, saan ba talaga tayo pupunta?" Tanong ni Jen habang inaalalayan ko siya papasok ng elevator. Naka blindfold kasi ito at gusto ko lang siyang isurprise.

"You'll see when we get there. Don't let go of my hand."

"I won't let you go Lisa, you know that." she said with a serious tone of voice. I kissed her forehead kasi baka mawala sa mood.

"Thank you, love. Thank you for staying with me." Ngumiti nalang siya bilang sagot. Pagbukas ng elevator, dinala ko siya sa rooftop deck nitong condo building kung saan kami nakatira ni Jen. Inalis ko na din yung blindfold niya and she was really surprised. I swear my heart jumped upon seeing her gummy smile.

I lead her to a small table in the middle. A late hour for dinner. I pulled out her chair. I sat across from her. The lights were perfectly placed. Fairy lights near our table arrangement was adding to the romantic vibes. All her favorite were here, with the help of Jisoo and Rosie, we finished this in time.

"Did you prepare this?"

"Yes love, with the help of Jisoo and Rosie. Did you like it?" I asked.

"Yes, I love it!"  She giggled as I watched her sip the wine.

Her cheeks turned crimson. A shy smile slipped out of her lips. I love watching her this close. My eyes move over her. From her eyes to her nose, cheeks, lips. The curve of her neck. Slope of her shoulders. Her chest. The tiny bit of cleavage just peeking out from her red dress. Again, Jen blushed.

"As far as I can remember, hindi pa natin anniversary today."  Hinawakan ko ang kamay niya at marahan itong inilapat sa mga labi ko.

"I just wanted to make it up to you." Tumayo ako at marahan siyang inalalayan patayo.

"Can I have this dance?" I asked, but instead of answering, she gave me a peck on my lips before she circled her arms around my nape. This time around, I draped both of my arms around Jen's small frame and pulled her a little closer. We started moving even without music.

"I love you.." She said and leaned her head on my chest. I heard little giggles from her, maybe because of my heart, it was beating so fast.

"Hey." Pagsasaway ko sa kanya. This time nagtama na muli ang mga mata naming dalawa.

I missed this so much.

It seemed like everything around us faded away. We were in a universe all our own. Lost in the depths of each other's eyes. I can feel her desire, and mine as well. But it is not lustful: it's calm, gentle, and controlled. With a sense of longing to escape forever into that universe around us.

"Even with this heart, your effect on me was still the same." Napatigil ako sa paggalaw nang may pumatak na luha sa mga mata niya, agad ko naman na pinunasan yun.
