Before we knew it, we were already on the last day of our honeymoon. We were set to leave Jeju Island in the afternoon, and we pretty much had half a day to ourselves, having gone to the island's tourist spots in the previous days.
Currently, we were busy packing our things, stuffing our clothes and other possessions into our suitcases, all the while chatting inside our room.
It was still relatively early in the morning - Hanji was clad in a shirt and a pair of jogging pants, while I wore an oversized shirt and a comfortable pair of shorts. However, we decided to pack up early so we wouldn't be in a rush later on.
"Did you enjoy our honeymoon, [Y/N]?" Hanji asked as they looked up, folding some of their clothes and placing them neatly in a pile.
Most of our things were on the bed, where we sorted them first before putting them inside our suitcases, which lay open on the floor for easy access.
I nodded as I answered with a smile, pausing in my task, "Definitely, and I'm also glad that we got to spend time with each other. I feel a lot closer to you now, Hanji."
Hanji hummed in content as they said, "I'm glad to hear that, darling, and I feel the same way." They made a sound of contentment before they added, "Is there any place you want to go? We still have around five hours before we have to be at the airport."
At this, I sat down on the edge of the bed, clutching one of my shirts that I was folding, as I said in response, "How about we enjoy the beach? We can stroll along the shoreline and just make the most out of our trip. What do you say?"
Hanji walked over to where I was before gently ruffling my hair, "I'd love that, darling. Besides, I have something to tell you too, regarding the assignment. Let me just get my-"
They were interrupted by the ringing of their phone, and Hanji took it out of their pocket to see who it was, before glancing at me apologetically as they said softly, "I'm sorry, [Y/N], I have to take this call. Can you wait for me in the lobby instead? I won't take long."
I nodded in understanding, grabbing a cardigan from the pile of clothes on the bed as I answered, "It's okay, I'll wait for you downstairs. See you in a bit, Hanji."
I gave them a small wave as I turned to leave the room, while Hanji went to the balcony area to answer the call. I closed the door after me gently, humming to myself as I walked down the hall, towards the elevator.
Before I could press the button on the elevator, a familiar voice asked from behind me, "Hi! Your name's [Y/N], right?"
I turned to see who it was and saw that it was Petra, who was waving and had a smile on their face. Only this time, her husband wasn't with her.
Which meant that I'd have to ride the elevator with her, alone.
In hindsight, this was a good opportunity to put into action what I planned before - to sort things out with Petra to make sure that there wasn't any bad blood between us.
I just hadn't expected that it would be this soon. But then again, if I don't do it now, then when?
Before I could say anything, Petra started as she said, her tone sincere, "I just wanted to apologize for how I acted before with Hanji."
Taken aback, I felt my eyes widen slightly before I cleared my throat in an effort to compose myself. I hadn't expected to get an apology from her this easily, but this was a good thing - I was glad that we can talk about what happened, and leave the island without any regrets.
Smiling at the girl, I answered softly, "Apology accepted, Petra. I'm sorry too, it was rude of me to suddenly leave during the lunch we shared before. I guess I was...jealous."
