[Author's Note]
I'm back with a new chapter <3 I apologize again for the long wait, but it was a bit hard for me to write this one (and the following chapters as well) :( Still, I hope that you'll enjoy it! I'd also love to hear your thoughts on this chapter <3
Always keep safe, everyone!

"You've been staring at that picture for more than half an hour now," Levi remarked as he sat down on the available seat beside Hanji, before he continued, "I doubt that it'll change the fact that there's no denying she has some sort of connection with Traute Caven."
A few seconds passed before Hanji was able to respond, "Levi, do you really think that she's double-crossing us?"
"I know that you're smart enough to figure out which is which, Four-eyes," the shorter male answered, clearing his throat slightly as his gaze drifted to the tall blonde figure about to enter the room.
"Hanji, I'm sure you're already aware that you must terminate your relationship with Ms. [Y/N] as soon as possible," Erwin said as he shut the door behind him, his voice unusually loud in the relatively small room.
Hanji immediately met his gaze, unconsciously standing up as they said, "But we don't even have concrete evidence that she's really related to Traute Caven. Isn't this a bit too hasty?"
"I don't understand why there's a need to prolong your agreement with her when her part in this investigation is already over. On top of that, the other detectives heard what she said as well, and unrest among them is beginning to form," Erwin explained as he took a step until he was directly in front of Hanji, "You merely have a professional working relationship with Ms. [Y/N]; she is technically your employee playing the role of your wife. We have no use for such a role now. Why do you have an objection to what I said earlier?"
Hanji opened their lips to say something, before closing them again as they thought of a rational response.
"It won't be long now for Moblit to trace Traute Caven's actual relationship with [Y/N]. Based on their closeness in the picture, it almost looks like they're related by blood. Are you alright with being married to someone who can potentially be a relative of the person who murdered your parents?" Levi asked distractedly, his eyes not meeting Hanji's.
At this, Hanji wasn't able to remain silent as they said, "That's uncalled for, Levi. Besides, if she were really pretending to forget her past and is actually involved with the agency, then why would she have said that she's the one in the picture in the first place?"
"It was necessary for me to say that so you'll get your mind out of the gutter. We've worked with several murder cases already, yet you still haven't realized that some people only pretend to be victims to get away with their crimes?" Levi said in rebuttal, finally turning to face Hanji, "Just say you messed up and got involved with [Y/N] emotionally, and now you can't think straight because of your feelings for her."
"Levi, that's enough," Erwin interjected with a stern look, "Our top priority is and will always be our nation's security. All I ask of you is to end your contract with Ms. [Y/N] right away. This is an order."

I want to go home.
But where is home, exactly?
I don't know anymore.
Several thoughts ran through my mind as my headache took a turn for the worst, from mild to severe. I closed my eyes and placed my head on Hanji's desk, unsure of what to do to lessen the pain, if only a little. Seeing that picture caused some sort of turmoil in me, with memories seemingly popping up then suddenly disappearing before I could even begin to process it.
