"do you wanna meet my momma?" serena asked jimin. they were at his apartment watching a movie so the question caught him off guard.
"huh?" he paused the movie and looked at her like she was crazy. "what if she doesn't like me!"
"oh you don't have to worry about that !" she said cheerfully. "my momma loves everybody."
"i don't know." he mumbled and she laughed lightly.
"well you better find out quick because we're leaving. get ready." she said and kissed him on the cheek. he groaned loudly and went in his room to change into something presentably. he settled on a simple white shirt, black plants, and black dress shoes.
"you didn't have to dress so formal." serena chuckled when jimin walked out.
"leave me alone and let's go." he said while jokingly pushing her shoulder.

when they pulled up to her mother's house, she turned to look at jimin and laughed at how terrified he looked.
"don't be nervous, babes." she reassured him while caressing his hand. that calmed him down a little but not fully. they got out the car and walked up the steps of a comfy looking home. serena knocked on the door and a few seconds later and woman who looked like an older version opened the door and smiled widely when she saw her daughter.
"sunny!" she exclaimed while giving her a big hug. "it feels like forever since i last seen you. and who is this?" she asked, referring to jimin.
"momma, this is my boyfriend, jimin." serena explained and moved out the way. jimin extended his hand and smiled shyly.
"nice to meet you ma'am." he said and she shook his hand smiling brightly.
"nice to meet you too." she said proudly. "sunny, where did you find such a respectful young man?"
they all chuckled and turned to walk into the house. serena looked at jimin and mouthed, "i told you it wouldn't be so bad." resulting in him smiling shyly.
"so how long have y'all been dating?" serena's mother asked when she came out the kitchen with two glasses of lemonade for them.
"2 weeks." jimin answered while smiling at serena.
"aww, well i'm glad sunny has finally found someone for her." her mother said which made serena's face flush.
they stayed in the house for a little while before they decided they should head back to jimin's apartment.
"jimin why don't you go wait outside while i talk to my mom for a little longer?" serena offered and jimin agreed, saying goodbye to serena's mom before heading out. when he went outside he stood by his car and scrolled through his social medias. he was interrupted when he heard someone calling his name. when he looked up he felt his heart stop for minute.
it was his ex-girlfriend, maria.
she stared at him and he turned his head away so she wouldn't come over but it was too late as she could hear her heels clicking closer to him.
"jimin is that you?" her overly high pitched voice said.
he took a deep breath before plastering a fake smile across his face. "yep it's me."
"it seems like it's been forever since i last saw you, how have you been?"
"i've been doing good, yourself?"
but before she could answer, serena came running back to them, a smile plastered across her face.
"okay I'm back." she said cheerfully. "who's this?" she asked, referring to maria.
jimin scratched his neck awkwardly. "maria, this is my girlfriend serena. serena this is my ex, maria."
"oh nice to meet you." serena muttered and for the first time since they met, jimin saw her show a sign of not being happy. jealous maybe?
"wish i could say the same." maria said with a fake smile on her face. "so this is your type now?" she asked.
serena raised a brow and jimin just shook his. "don't start that right now."
"i'm not starting anything." she said putting her hands up in defense. "just know, you'll come running back to me. i'll make sure of it."
and with that she walked away, a mischievous grin across her face.
