Chapter 14: Escaping

Daphne was running around the halls, she ran around a corner when something threw her across the floor.

"Holy shit! Are they dead?!" Steve asked

"It's Daphne you dipshit" Dustin snapped

Dustin ran to the girl and picked her up, sitting her in the back with Steve and Robin. They stopped at the elevator, Daphne was conscious once again and helped drag Steve and Robin into the elevator. Daphne was spacing out until she heard Robin say something.

"We all die my strange little child friend. It's just a matter of how, and when" Robin said while twirling her hair

"Okay, they're gonna be looking for us up there so I need you to tell me where you parked your car" Dustin asked Steve

"Oh! Can we make a pit stop at the food court?" Steve asked

"I would kill for a hot dog on a stick!" Robin drooled

"And fruit snacks!" Daphne added

"Are you drugged too?!" Erica asked

"No" Daphne answered

"Alright, yeah food. You can have as much food as you want, but only if you tell me where your car is parked" Dustin replied

"Uh oh" Steve said

"Uh oh?" Dustin questioned

"They took the keys. The Russians, they took the keys like forever ago!" Steve laughed

"Daphne, what about the spare keys you have?" Dustin asked

"Sorry, I left them in Steve's car.. under the seat" Daphne explained

"Yeah she did!" Steve laughed

The elevator stopped, they opened the doors that headed towards the gate, while Steve and Robin were tasting the air. They heard yelling in Russian and opened the gate.

"Shit" Daphne said, frantically

"There!" Dustin said

They ran to the side doors and get everyone in
"Where do we go?" Erica asked

"Follow me!" Dustin said

Dustin grabbed Steve's hand while Daphne grabbed Robin's. They ended up in the movie theater, they walked into a cinema playing what seemed to be a new movie. They sat the two in the front row then went to the back.

"I'm gonna try and contact Mike or someone. Watch them" Dustin directed

Dustin left, a while later the three noticed the two were gone.

"I can't believe we lost them!" Daphne panicked

"We're gonna find them" Dustin assured

They looked around

"There!" Dustin pointed to the bathrooms

They opened the door and saw Robin and Steve laughing on the floor

"Okay, what the hell?" Dustin said, angrily

They start laughing again and get up

"It smells like puke, did you get whatever that was out your system?" Daphne asked

Erica and Daphne were holding their noses from the smell

"Yep, all out" Robin replied

Daphne hugged Steve then Robin

"Where did you go back there?" Steve asked

"Russians took me, I killed them. They saw my number" Daphne explained

The girl was debating on telling them about the demogorgon she killed.

"Okay, we need to get out of here before those Russians find us" Dustin announced

Dustin checked his watch

"Only a few more minutes until the movie is over" Dustin added

Steve and Robin move over to wash their mouths. They moved back to the door and began to hear voices.

"Okay. We have to blend, are you guys ready?" Dustin asked

"Yeah, let's just get out of here" Steve answered

He opened the door checking first then they all headed in the crowd.

"Well that shit worked" Erica said

"Of course it worked, we get on the bus with the rest of these plebes and then home sweet home, here we come" Dustin replied

"Uh, Dustin" Steve said

"What?" Dustin asked

"Yeah, we might not wanna go to your house" Steve suggested

"Why not?" Dustin asked, worried and confused

"Cause I might've told them your full name" Steve admitted

"Dude! What is wrong with you?!" Dustin exclaimed

"Dude I was drugged" Steve defended

They turned a corner that was closer to the main entrance but Robin stopped them, Daphne examined the area and saw a Russian eyeing them.

"Abort" Dustin said

They all freaked out and ran back into the crowd only to stumble upon escalators, no one knew what to do until Robin slid down the middle. Erica went after, Dustin, Daphne and then Steve. They followed her and hid behind a counter in the food court. The silence was unbearable, adrenaline running through their veins. A car horn filled the empty mall causing the five to jump, suddenly the sound of a car getting crushed now filled the empty mall instead. Daphne looked at Dustin and Steve, the five slowly looked over the counter. The car inside the mall that was on display was now all damaged, dead Russians were on the floor. They all looked to the second floor and spotted the people they longed to see. Jonathan, Nancy, Max, Lucas, Mike, El, and Will.
