Chapter 1 The Start

Third person pov.

In the earliest chilly morning of Gotham City, the sun shines down onto the earth bracing it with its warmth, and melting the frost that collected over night and early am’s away. The birds are chirping away as they fly in the semi light grey and blue skies to find food or any kind of warmth. Some clouds graced the sky today, but in general it looks like a perfect day to hit Gotham City.

The people in Gotham City were already waking up and getting ready for work and what not. The roads were slowly getting more packed with vehicles, and angry people who can't understand that the roads here pack up faster than ever when people are rushing off to do what they need to do on this day.

Violet smiles as she embraces the feeling of the warm sun on her chilly body; her head is tilted back as she relaxes under the sun's heat and safety. The chilly air whooshed between her hair behind and down her neck making small shivers go down her spine. She loved it nonetheless. Even though her night was shit seeing the sun shining down like this just made it better; it has always made it better.

Seeing the sun made her forget for a bit that she has a pounding throbbing head, a bleeding nose that slowly drips from her bruised up nose and onto her black masks. Her hands, hips, nose, eyes- her whole body is beaten up; there are bruises, scratches and even burn marks on her small body. Luckily enough magic did wonders to her outfit that was intact and looks brand new as she… she looks used and thrown away at the moment. Her stomach was empty and she was starving, but thinking of food just made her stomach sick, however seeing the sun rise was something she tried to see every morning and it helps a bit. It's calming.

This morning, instead of taking her time to her spot, she had to rush to get there and watch the sun rise. Her normal spot is the longest skyscraper in Gotham city, it's high enough for no one to see her up there and it's high enough for her to see everything she wanted to see.

She does her best to relax her tense painful body as she listens to the birds fly around making their cute little chirping whistling noises. Things below make their noises that you wouldn't hear from up here, but she can. Good hearing and all.

When Violet is ready to leave, she would be leaving to go home to get cleaned up, patched up, eat and probably sleep for a little bit before she goes back to Mount Justices for whatever they are up to this night. Well Violet didn’t need to go back, she was dismissed for a couple of days or even week-weeks alongside Magen, Garfield, Dick and Tim. They were hurt a bit and needed time to rest it off before coming back onto the field or even start training again, but Violet was used to being in pain.

To her this was light weight. She is so used to pushing through the pain and moving on to something else, so this was light weight for her. This pain is nothing to her. She has gotten hurt even worse before, and didn't need to take breaks off to ‘rest’ and ‘heal’; but for a few reasons she will go home and rest. One reason would be that if she did go back and start training or go on the field again, she would be expended because ‘she should be healing and resting’ and she doesnt want that; and two, she was actually tired this time and wanted to sleep away that night, and what she has to deal with every waking second. It doesn't mean she still isn't allowed back into mount justice to see what is happening with the bad guys and women, she's just not allowed to train, go on field or ‘push it’.

The warmth on her body felt good on her chilly body, but she knew it was time to go back home. So she pushes up and whips her pants off before just standing there staring off in the distances for a couple more minutes.

Her eyes scanned down below seeing if there was anyone needing help before she left, but saw nothing of any sorts. She nods her head in improvement, and then turns around staring at the wall behind her. Her eye just stare bleak at the white-grey building wall. A soft sort of unsettling smile forms on her face as she opens her arms wide and steps off the edge of the tall skyscraper. The air was so cold as she fell fast towards the ground, but she didn't shiver.

She... felt free.

A circle forms under her and her body falls through it. She was ready for the impact and embraced it, and when it came, she smiled and opened her eye and it locked onto the bright blue sky that brightens her room up for a few seconds before the circle closes up and leaves her in the dark.

She sighs and rips her mask off her mouth and then gets the mask off that covers her left eye. Her hair lays messy under her head as she stares up to the ceiling with tired emotionless eyes.

Images slowly pop up in her head of them smiling lovingly at each other. The way they looked at each other wasn't real love, but it was close to it. They knew they weren't soulmates, but they had gotten close to each other, they got fond of each other and they think that it's love when it's not. She shakes her pounding headache trying to get the images gone, but they didn't, but change to another image of the others happy with someone else.

She couldn't be mad. It's her fault for most of the pain she is causing, but there are reasons why she can't tell them or show her true form. That would just cause them and her to be in more danger than she has been for centuries now. She doesn't want them to be in danger because of her.

She knows that she can't be mad or do anything about it and she is pretty good at keeping her emotions at bay… crying, she hasn't done that for maybe over a century now. But sadness- depression has built in her making a dreading pit form in her stomach and chest.

She grasps the side of her head, her fingers grip her hair and slightly pull. The frustration was coming in causing her to squeeze her head and tighten her eyes close.

The pain she was feeling right now is unbelievably painful. More painful than what she experienced last night. This pain she has she has all day long. She can handle this pain very well; most of the time you wouldn't know she is… not well.
