Thalia
It had been over half an hour of being pestered with questions non-stop, but the UA students showed no signs of stopping. I sighed and answered Ojiro's question.
"No, I don't have any siblings".
I pretty much had all of their names down. Midoriya, the green-haired idiot (he was an All Might fanboy, so I didn't really like him) seemed about to burst.
"Your parents must be so proud of you getting into UA, especially since it's this late in the year!" I sent him a withering glare.
"Assumptions again." Everyone looked at me, confused. Momo was the first to ask
"What do you mean, assumptions?"
"You just made another assumption," I said, pointing at the fanboy. He turned red.
"O-o-oh, s-sorry, are your parents not supportive of you?" I sighed.
"Yet another assumption."
"W-what?"
"You just assumed that I have parents." Pomeranian boy, who had appeared to be half asleep, put his hand on my shoulder.
"Shit. I apologise on behalf of them."
"It's fine," I said. "But thanks anyways."
"Soooooo... What happened to your parents?" Asked broccoli in a gossipy voice. Pomeranian shot up and slapped him.
"OW! What was that for, Kacchan?"
"Do you ever think before you speak?"
"W-w-what?"
"Do you KNOW how fucking insensitive that sounded? Thalia's sharing some personal shit here, you fucking nerd!" Small explosions were popping out of his palms. I clapped my hand on explodopants' shoulder before he did any damage.
"Calm down. It's fine." Broccoli seemed relieved.
"I'm sorr-" I cut him off.
"I said it's fine because I've been living with it for the past four years. I'm training to be a hero. I can take it. If you had asked that to anyone else in that tone, you could make it seem like their pain is insignificant. Unimportant. Irrelevant. I've seen too many people pushed to self-loathing, self-harm, and even suicide by unsympathetic attitudes like yours. So either clean up your act or leave, because if you can't provide sympathy and help to common civilians, you don't deserve to be a hero at all."
He looked shell-shocked. His mouth was opening and closing like a carp, and his eyes were wide. I shook my head. That was the problem with modern society. Everything was about taking down big villains, making a name for yourself. No one except underground heroes and vigilantes seemed to realize that the most deaths weren't because of large-scale villain attacks. No, it was the small thugs, the people who worked in the shadows. It was society, turning us against one another because of Quirks, something nobody could control. I huffed and turned on my heel, just about done with the bullshit here.
*Sigh*
Well, Bakugou is OOC. So is pretty much everyone else.
Not a very good chapter, I know. Sue me, I wrote it while half-asleep and don't feel like changing it now. Might edit later though.
