Thalia
I followed the others to a large door.
Well, that's excessive, I thought. People might have Quirks that make them bigger, but this is just a waste of money.
Well, it was UA, and appearances did matter. I knew that, and made sure to take care of my looks. Beauty was a weapon, and I had used it to my advantage many times.
As we entered the classroom, my first thought was huh. This actually seems pretty normal. Uraraka pointed at a desk in the back corner.
"That's your desk."
I thanked her and walked to the desk. This was actually a really good spot, because I had a view of the room and the windows. I sat down and waited for Aizawa to pop out from behind his desk (I had seen the caterpillar bag move). He popped out right as the bell rang, surprising most of the students.
"Nobody except for Thalia, Bakugou, Jirou, Todoroki, and Shoji noticed me. Unacceptable."
Oh, I'm going to like this class.
Aizawa
As soon as the new student walked in, I had a feeling she'd be different. The way she walked spoke of someone highly trained. Her general appearance showed off how much training she did; she was covered in lithe muscle. But what really gave it away was... well, her in general.
It was hard to explain. Usually, you could recognize someone's fighting style by the way they moved; a boxer was more sturdy, ready to take anything head-on, a martial artist was balanced, calm. She moved in a variety of ways; at one moment, her body seemed like a fluid, the next, a brick wall. She had a certain grace to her, and she walked as though she was weightless; a dancer or a gymnast, perhaps. At the same time, she seemed well-grounded, a constant in the turmoil. The only consistent things were her eyes; they were calm, collected, and spoke of someone highly intelligent.
When she had first walked into the room, she had immediately noticed me, something which most of my students still didn't do, despite the fact that I had been teaching them for weeks. She had given the room what I recognized to be an assessing sweep, eyes lingering on the windows, the door, the more shadowy areas of the room, anything that could be used as a weapon. So she already has training and possibly real experience. I have a feeling that she's going to be one to watch.
After I took roll call, I spoke up.
"I know that you're all recovering from the villain attack on the USJ." I was answered with nodding heads. "But the battle isn't over yet."
"WHAT?" It's too early for this. I need a coffee or two or five.
"The UA Sports Festival is happening in a few weeks." People started cheering. "You had better be prepared. This is a unique opportunity to showcase yourself and rise to the top. You'll only have a total of three chances like this in your school career."
I let everyone talk amongst themselves, noting how Thalia was watching the chaos instead of joining in. Once I had had enough of the noise, I called for silence. "We'll be doing a simple exercise before your hero training today." The class began murmuring, but a simple glare had the silent again.
I tapped a few buttons on a remote, causing a projection to appear on the wall behind me. It showed a picture of a large, empty room. Present Mic was chained before Snipe, who was pointing a gun at Mic's head. "You are the only hero available. The others are all out of commission, and the police are occupied elsewhere. The villain is threatening the civilian's life unless he gets a ransom of 100 thousand dollars. What do you do in this situation?" Thalia had barely glanced at the picture when she raised her hand lazily. "Thalia?" Everyone turned their heads toward her, not expecting an answer that fast. She just smirked, brushing her hair over her shoulder.
"I wouldn't do anything. This is clearly not a dangerous situation."
"What?" asked Mina.
"Silence. Thalia, continue," I said, annoyed by the interruptions.
"Mic isn't gagged, so considering his Quirk, he should be fine by himself." I had to hide a smile at the class' dumbfounded looks.
Thalia continued, "assuming it really is a normal citizen who is either Quirkless or has a Quirk that wouldn't work well in this situation, I would still do nothing. The safety on that gun is on, which indicates that the person demanding the ransom has no intention of hurting the hostage. I know this because he has to be anticipating that someone is going to try and rescue this man, or else he wouldn't be holding the gun up. Even if the safety was off, the gun isn't real. It's a convincing imitation, sure, but it's missing a serial code there." She pointed at a spot on the gun, which indeed bore no serial code. "The muzzle of the gun is also too large. Any bullet coming out of that thing would be too big to do too much damage, though at close range it would still be a problem." My lips twitched. I was liking this problem child more and more. "Besides, the hostage's chains are loose, which means that it was likely a setup between the two. They give the ransom over, the villain escapes, and they split the reward." Thalia grinned. "Though all of the stuff I just said was probably done for Mic's safety and because of government regulations."
"Correct and correct. What would you have done if the gun's safety was off, it was a real gun, and the hostage was tightly chained?"
"Run behind the hostage-holder, knocking the gun out of his hand and punching him in the face on the way to disorient him and make him look for the source of the attack. Switch the lights off there using that switch, knock him out while he's temporarily blinded, release the hostage, use the chain to secure the hostage-holder" she answered.
"Good." I clicked the remote again, causing another four pictures to appear. "You have..." I glanced at the clock. "Seven minutes until Heroics class. Determine what you'd do in these situations. I'm going to sleep." With that, I zipped myself back into my sleeping bag, closing my eyes to observe what happened when they thought I was asleep. Thalia sent me a wink, silently telling me she knew what I was up to. This year might actually turn out to be interesting, after all.
I love Aizawa. I LOVE him. As you might be able to tell. Dadzawa, adopt me please.
Thanks for reading! Until next time!
