Laia's POV

He drove me home and the whole way to my house was dead silence.

He asked a few times if I was okay.

I nodded my head every time.

I wanted to cry. I wanted to ask questions.

"One detail. Please."

He looked at me with anger screaming in his eyes but his face filled with innocence.

"You need to know, I get it. But I don't feel like talking about it."

And he didn't say a word until we got to my house.

"I'll see you at school."
Then he left.

I cried myself to sleep. I would call it a skill by now.

I didn't wake up until the next morning.

I didn't get out of bed until the afternoon.

As I went downstairs, I heard my stomach rumble like a bloody volcano.

We don't own any food great. The fridge was half empty and it was all canned food, fruits, spices, alcohol and bread. I rested my elbows on the counter and groaned into my palms when I noticed a piece of paper in front of me.

'We will be back by tomorrow morning.' Signed Mom.

I guess they did notice I stayed home.

Why didn't they wake me up?

I made myself some 2 minute noodles and ran up the stairs into my room.

I binged on my laptop and fell asleep once again.

Suddenly my almost dead phone began to ring. I didn't have the energy to put it on charge.

I picked up the phone. I felt like throwing it when I saw the name across the screen.

'Demetrius Visten.'

I was mad at him but I wanted to hear from him.

I pressed my thumb on the screen and the call was answered.

I didn't say a word. And I couldn't stop thinking about how he'd hurt me.

I wanted him to do the speaking.

"Laia?"

His deep voice was so calming.

"Mhm.." I replied. It was more of a groan but he seemed to understand what I was trying to express.

"I didn't see you at school today. Are you okay?"

I wasn't okay, he never even said sorry. I looked down at my wrist, the marks were faded but not completely gone. Whereas the bruise was there but kind of unnoticable.

"I don't like it when your mad. You like, become this whole different person." I sniffled ever so quietly.

"Laia.. I-I'm. Hold on." he was quiet for a second then he hung up.

Just as I was about to block his number I got a notification from him.

A message stated 'I'll tell you everything you need to know if you meet me at the park behind the school.'

I didn't have any motivation to get dressed into clean clothes and walk to the park so I slid converse over my dirty, sweaty socks. I ran out of my room and down the stairs.

I grabbed my mom's car keys off the third shelf and the spare house keys out of the small antique drawer.

I jumped into the driver's seat of the car.
