I returned to school exactly a week after I had left the hospital and I wanted to go home the second I stepped onto the school grounds.
I seen people staring at me and whispering occasionally but most just glanced over a lot, pretending not to stare.
I wasn't popular or anything so I was actually quite confused what the 'Hot News' was on me.
I normally went about my day. Still receiving stares, some were judgemental, others involved smiles and not so intimidating glares.
I was absolutely terrified to go to Science class. As Wesley used to be in there. What if he wasn't locked up yet.
The police tracked him down and took him down to the station for questioning.
He was smart to admit to it and that I was thankful for because I really didn't feel like going to court.Thank goodness he wasn't there. I was informed later in the day by the Principal that he had actually been expelled and sent to juvie as he still wasn't an adult.
That would explain the stares and whispers. Word gets around fast as fuck.
When break time came around I remembered I didn't actually have friends.
I was on my way to go eat in the toilets like an absolute loser when I heard a loud noise coming from the other side of the cafeteria.
And it was loud and the noise was my name. In fact it was so loud that everyone else in the room went silent and stared at me.
I simply turned on my heel and pierced my eyeballs to a smiling Vino who sat in the corner table along with Harrison, a blonde girl, a red head girl and another boy I've never seen before. But no Demetri.
I couldn't take the stares anymore and just started speed walking over to Vino's table. The closer I got, the quieter my footsteps got and the louder everyone else in the cafeteria got. Thank goodness.
"Howdy girl."
"Hey Vino, thank you so much for the announcement. Really." I chuckled.
"Oh. That? That was nothing." He proudly exclaimed.I hummed in amusement as I placed my tray down on the round table and sat down next to the red head and Harrison.
"This is Claire.." Vino said gesturing to the red head. She gave me a sweet smile and I returned it.
"..And this is Kaylee!" He added patting the blonde on the head. She chuckled and held out her hand across the table. I gently shook it and brought my hand back, placing it in the lap.
"It's nice to meet you, I've heard so much about you."
"Oh no. Is that so?" I asked trying to laugh but really I was about to die.
I decided to stay curious instead of spending another night crying because of other people's rumours or comments so I didn't press any further into that subject.I cleared my throat to break the awkward silence and turned to the boy who's name I still didn't know. "Hey, what's your name?"
He just gave me a cold stare and looked back to Harrison, who noticed I felt uncomfortable after those actions and gave me a reassuring smile to make me feel better."That's Harrison's brother, Elijah." Vino said, biting into his chicken nuggets. Hm Elijah. They had to be twins because they didn't look a day older than each other. "They're twins." He added and I nodded.
"But not the ones that look exactly the same. I forgot the word but like that's not them because they don't really look the same. Just the eyes, hair colour, height, build, nose, lips, ea-"
"Thank you, Vino I think I understand." I interrupt him, laughing.
As I'm still chuckling to myself I hear someone clearing their throat behind me. And I turn around in curiosity even though I had already guessed who it was.
"Hey... Demetrius."
He just stared at me, we hadn't talked since our fight at the hospital.
"Your in my seat."
Rude. Not even a hello. How about go fuck yourself?"I'm so sorry. Well I guess it's my seat now. Thank you." I chirped. Going back to eating my chips.
I hear Demetrius scoff from behind me as he growls. "Fine."
When I look back up at Vino, his jaw is basically on the floor."But Demetrius, you never let me sit in your spot. And I'm your best friend." He whined.
I chuckled softly as my eyes remained glued to Demetri who was making his way around the table.
He stopped in between the two girls and they each shuffled over in opposite directions to make space for him.As he sat down I seen both his hands placed on each girl's thigh. Kaylee shuffled uncomfortably under his touch and I noticed her even frown a little.
Whilst Claire was enjoying every moment.I watched as Kaylee tried to ignore it ad she ate her chips, her eyes fixating under the table to her thigh as she ate.
I wanted to make sure she actually didn't enjoy it before I spoke up.
It was when I seen her try to shuffle away when I did."Get your hand off her." Demetrius' eyes shot to me.
"What?"
"I said, get your hand off of Kaylee." I spoke more confidently piercing my eyes to his.
"Why?"
"Your clearly making her uncomfortable."
He grunted in response and drew his hand away. My gaze then landed on Kaylee's as she mouthed to me "Thank you." I gave her a smile. Then I looked back to Demetrius who was still staring at me, this time with guilt in his expression.
I had Art class last and I was quite excited as I actually enjoy art. Mainly because it's easy to pass but also because you don't need to study.
I was extra happy when I seen Kaylee in there too.
I have a feeling were going to be good friends..
