Reunited (My au of Danganronpa v3; this is basically my SaiMatsu story)

Chapter 3

No one's P.O.V.

Everything came to a standstill. It was almost as if they were alone. Separated from the world in a glass box. Because at that moment, it was only Kaede and Shuichi, in each other's arms. The noises of the street faded into muffled murmurs that couldn't be discerned, but it was no matter. It was just the two of them, together once more.

Shuichi held Kaede tight as she cried, shedding tears of his own. It was almost like a dream. A wonderful dream where the two could be together, but a nightmare if they woke, and woke up alone. Neither of them wanted to wake up if it was a dream. It was just the two of them in that moment, holding the other so tight that they couldn't ever lose them. Not ever again.

Kaede's whole body was trembling as she clung to Shuichi like a child and buried her face in his chest; tears of happiness and grief spilled from her eyes. She had felt so lost without him all this time; how could she ever stop this horrible feeling? She was so scared that he was going to disappear any moment and instinctively moved closer, still shaking. Shuichi closed what was left of the gap in-between them and murmured, "Everything's gonna be okay now."

Kaede raised her tearstained face towards his. "B-but this c-can't be real," she cried. "I-it's too good to be t-true!"

"I know," Shuichi said, his voice faltering. "I don't know how or why, but you're here, and that's all that matters."

"O-oh Shuichi, I m-missed you so m-much!" Kaede said in-between sniffles.

Closing his eyes and burying his face in her hair, Shuichi said, "I missed you too. More than you could ever know."

Author's note: I'm sorry for the short chapter! I'm just in school right now and I wanted to make a short but sweet one before my class ends, so yee ^v^
