Chapter 43: Archie's 1st Christmas

It was now Christmas eve, Archie is now nine months old and it's his first Christmas.  I was five months pregnant and carrying a baby girl.  Fleur was also carrying a baby girl.  Archie was very excited for a sister and Fred couldn't have been more happy when he found out. 

"The baby is perfectly healthy and growing well. Would you like to know the gender of your baby?" The nurse asked as we were getting pictures of the baby and finding out if it's healthy. 

I looked at Fred and he nodded his head at me. "Yes please." I replied. It was nice the first time not knowing if I was going to have a girl or boy, the surprise is always nice but I would have rather know what gender the baby will be born.   But we also couldn't know what gender it was because there was a war going on and going to St. Mungos was a very risky thing. 

"You are going to have a little baby girl." The nurse said which made me burst into tears of joy. Fred kisses my head and then kissed my bump. "Hey bean, I love you so much baby. I can't wait to meet you. Your big brother Archie is very excited to meet you. Mummy is excited. But I think that I am the most excited." Fred said as he started having a full blown conversation with my baby girl. 

I looked at the nurse and she laughed a bit. "He's already a great father, also would you like pictures of the baby?" The nurse asked. "Yes! I want to show off to everyone that I am going to have the coolest, most beautiful daughter."  Fred piped up. I laughed and so did the nurse. "Alright, also congratulations on the baby." She said to me. "Thank you." I replied and she smiled and nodded her head. 

Since it was Christmas eve, Molly was having a big family dinner. However it was at mine and Fred's house since the Burrow was getting a bit small. Mum and dad were over at our house with Teddy. Archie and Teddy are already the best of friends.  They love to play peek-a-boo with each other and race around while crawling. 

 Hermione, Harry, Neville, Luna, Angelina and Audrey were all over as well. All the Weasley kids were over too.  Charlie wanted to bring his dragon but Fred didn't allow that. Saying he doesn't want Archie to go on dragons yet, he would allow Archie on dragons once he is the age of ten. 

George was dressed up as Santa Claus. Hermione had introduced some muggle traditions and Fred wanted Archie to grow up with that. So he made George dress up as Santa Claus. Archie and Teddy didn't know about it so it would be a surprise to them. 

We were all gathered around the dining room table, we also had to bring out extra tables to fit everyone. I can't imagine what it will be like once everyone has their own children. When it is dinners at the Burrow, we would all probably be set up outside. 

"Ho, ho, ho." George said as if in a old man's voice. He came out from where he was hiding and started going up to Archie and Teddy.  Teddy started clapping his hands and laughing while Archie burst into tears.   Fred picked up Archie and brought him right over to George were he started bursting into more tears. I got up from my chair and took Archie from Fred.  He stopped crying once he was in my arms. 

"Why did you bring him up to what he was crying about?" I asked with a laugh in my voice. Archie's little head was right in my neck as he was hiding himself from his Uncle Georgie who was dressed as Santa Claus. "I don't know, maybe I thought that him facing his fears would be good." Fred laughed out. "George take that suit off." I said to him as he was playing with Teddy. "But Teddy likes it!" George defended. "Yeah but my son is crying because he's scared of Santa, so take it off Georgie." Fred said as Archie looked at me in the eyes. I looked back into his small little brown eyes and kissed his little nose. "Love you Archie." I whispered to him. A small whine left his mouth as he cuddled his face into my neck. 

"Now you guys understand my fear of spiders!" Ron exclaimed which made everyone laugh except for Hermione who hit him with her hand at the back of his head.  "The food is ready!" Molly exclaimed as she went to the kitchen to get the food. George took the Santa suit off and I put Archie in his high chair between Fred and I.  Molly came back with the food and put it all out for everyone. 

We were all eating the amazing turkey and mashed potatoes that she had prepared for us. Archie was now laughing and not crying any more since George took off the Santa suit.  As we were all eating, we were all talking about these two new babies. Fleur was due on May 2nd while I was due on May 15th.  Fred and I have already been setting up our baby girl's Nursery and we have a name for her already. Andromeda Sirius Weasley. 

Archie was spoiled for gifts. From Fred and I, he got some new toys. Bill and Fleur gave him a Jumperoo that I am sure that he will be so excited to play with. Charlie got him some dragon dummys. Percy and Audrey gave him some cloth books. George and Angelina got Archie a baby walker. He can stand up and walk but he can't walk for long before he falls, so he needs a bit of practice.  Ron and Hermione got him a climb and crawl foam set. Ginny and Harry got Archie some toys to play with. Luna and Neville got him some plants and shell decorations for his room. Mum and dad got Archie some photos of him and Teddy. And finally, Molly and Arthur got him a ball pit tent.  

Everyone also got Fred and I some stuff to set up Andromeda's room. No one knew the name of the baby as we wanted to keep it a surprise until she is born.  I am very excited for May to roll around. And I am excited for Archie's first birthday that is coming up.  Overall I think that Archie had a very great first Christmas.
