November was coming to its end. The castle was much colder now compared to how it was during Halloween, especially if you had your common room and dormitory in the dungeons. It was a frosty Wednesday and most of the students had just finished lunch.
Before lunch, the hufflepuffs had just had potions so they all were very cold and had been looking forward to food which happened to be a potato soup. Asteria started gathering her books and her friends copied her. They didn't really talk much during lunch, actually they hadn't talked much at all lately. Of course they all had shared a few conversations every day, some days more than others.
But it probably was because of the Sirius Black attack on Halloween that made them all nervous. It was worse in the beginning, nobady dared to walk alone if the mass murderer happened to show up at school again.
Although everyone had cooled down a bit and most of them could walk alone on the school grounds now.
The girls only had two classes left which was nice, Defence against the Dark Arts and Charms. Defence against the Dark Arts always went by fast, and it was extra fun with Professor Lupin as a teacher. Charms class was easy for Asteria, she was a top student, the next best actually after Hermione Granger of course. But being a top student has its positive and negative effects.
You always need to work hard and make sure all of your work is well done if you wanna stay as a top student. However there's barely any time in class when it's hard and you get stuck on something.
Asteria had always done well in charms class, every class actually but especially Charms class. She had got the hang of it at the very first class and ever since. Professor Flitwick was very fond of the girl. But when the class never was a challenge it got more boring in Asterias' opinion.
Jessica had ran of to catch up with one of her ravenclaw friends as they were going to have the nect class together. That left Hannah, Susan and Asteria alone. Nobody talked for the first to minutes until Susan spoke up and broke the tension.
"I'm tired"
"Yeah me too Susan" Asteria said
"It feels like I haven't slept days even though I sleep more now"
"Exactly" Susan replied
"I'm looking forward to when classes are over"
"Asteria I'm looking forward to this term being over" Hannah told them.
The three girls laughed as they kept walking to the DADA classroom. As they almost had reached the room they heard someone yelling,
"Asteria!"
They all turned their backs and was met by Neville.
"Oh hey Neville" Asteria greeted him.
Susan and Hannah also said hi to him and Susan nodged Asterias' shoulder. Asteria shook her arm slightly to make her friend stop and the auburned haired girl's lips formed into a small smile.
