Chapter Thirteen: Meet Officially

Next day...

We were in the lunch room. I was eating my sandwich. I saw Bella looking at us again. I turned to Jasper. "I'm going to get an apple and some carrot sticks," I told him and got up from my seat to the fruit/salad bar. I was deciding between red or green apple. "Hi. Beverly right?" I heard. I turn to see Bella getting a salad. 'Yeah. You are Charlie's daughter Bella," I said with a smile. I took a red apple. Bella was going for a red apple as well when it drop and I saw Edward kick it up to his leg and caught it.

I felt the tension between them. Edward was telling Bella to stay away from him. He wanted to be friends with her but at a distance. She had no clue what he meant. I was grabbing a few pieces of carrot sticks until when I heard a question. "Why don't you both come to the beach with us?" she said. I looked up. "Me?" I asked. "Sure," she said. I turned to Edward. He said that the beach felt crowded. She turned to me. "Um...I am planning to relax tomorrow at home," I said and walked back to the table.

Few days later....

It was a sunny day at school. Jasper called me the yesterday to let me know that he and his family were going to hunt. I told him to take his time and not to worry too much about me. Also, I told him that I would watch Bella closely.

I took the bus to school this time. Many students were outside today to enjoy the sun. I sat under a tree and started to study. I saw Bella at the bench with Jessica. Jessica was telling Bella that the cullens disappear when the weather was nice. The Cullens would go hiking or camping. {Great if she only knew.} Bella, Jessica, and Angela were planning to go to Port Angeles to get dresses for the prom. I wasn't planning to go anyways.

A few days later...

Bella was getting more suspicious as the days went on. I saw Edward walking into the woods and Bella followed him. I was at work when I heard about the killings of a few people. They said that it was an animal attack but, they didn't know what animal. I got really scared.

I met with Jasper and the family at the house. Bella figured everything out. I could tell that Rosalie was mad that she found out about their secret. I turned to Jasper. "Does this mean that you all will leave?" I asked shaking.

Carlisle shook his head. "No. She is part of the family since she is with Edward," he said. I sighed in relief. I wasn't so sure about Bella knowing everything.

Few days later....

It was the weekends. Jasper picked me up so that we could spend some time together. I loved spending time with him. We talked about alot of things. I told him that I had a brother, but I haven't had any contact with him since the custody battle. I thought of researching about his whereabout later.

Jasper told me that Edward invited Bella over to the house. We got to the house and walked inside to the kitchen. I saw Carlisle, Esme, Emmet, and Rosalie in the kitchen cooking. They had a cooking show on and following the recipe.

I said hello and Jasper and I walked to the living room to watch the T.V. A few minutes later, we heard footsteps from the stairs. I turned to see Bella and Edward coming into the kitchen. One by one, each family member spoke. They were making Italian for Bella. Edward said that she already ate.

Rosalie got upset and crushed the salad bowl with her hands. "Perfect," Rosalie said. Bella said that she knew that they didn't eat and she would tell anyone about their secret. "She should know. The entire family will be implicated if this ends badly," Rosalie said. "Badly as in...I would become the meal," Bella said. Everyone but, Rosalie laughed a bit.

Alice came walking in through the window. She balanced on a branch and jumped down. She walked towards Bella. I stood up from my seat with Jasper and we followed behind. "Hello Bella. I'm Alice," she said and gave Bella a hug. She smelled her a bit and pulled back. 'Oh, you do smell good," she said. "Alice...what are you...," Edward started to say.

"Its ok. Bella and I are going to be great friends," Alice said with a smile. Bella looked at us. Jasper had his arm around my waist. I gave Bella a smile. "I'm Beverly Melrone and this is Jasper," I said. I looked up at Jasper. He looked a bit stiff. I knew that he wasn't used to the new diet yet. He still had a hard time with humans.

"Sorry. Jasper is our newest vegetarian. Its a little difficult for him," Carlisle said. I gave his hand on my waist a little squeeze to comfort him a bit. His face was still stiff. "Its a pleasure to meet you," Jasper said. "Its okay Jasper. You won't hurt her," Alice reassured. I gave him a smile and he smiled back at me.

Edward excused Bella and himself to show Bella around the house. They walked away and Esme told Rosalie to clean the mess. Jasper and I returned to the living room and snuggled against each other on the couch. I just wanted to stay like that for the whole time.

Esme was done with the pasta and offered me a big plate. I tried it. "Its really good," I said with a smile. Esme gave me a smile. She loved making me food. I was always honest with her on her cooking. I could see that Rosalie was still upset. "Rosalie. Are you okay?" I asked with concern. She looked at me with a calm face. "I'm a bit upset," she said. I nodded my head. She was never mad at me. It was because that I never suspicious about the family.
