Luka sat nervously in the swan residence, knowing Billy would be here soon to meet his grandchildren finally. Luka might hate the man, but she believed Nathan had a right to know his grandfather no matter her feelings. Rosalie sits on Luka's lap, running her fingers through Luka's hair as they watch Nathan, Sarah, and Renesmee play with their new presents by the Christmas tree. Rosalie tried her best to comfort her lover, knowing that Luka was still hurt by Billy's decision to give her up. Jacob walks into the living room, pushing Billy in his wheelchair, causing Luka's body to stiffen. Billy completely ignored Luka's existence as he greets everyone else. Nathan was feeling the tension between his mother and the newcomer. Nathan moves to his mother's side and climbs into her lap. Luka smiles down at her son and runs her fingers through his hair. Jacob walks over with Billy after introducing him to Sarah and Renesmee. "Nathan, this is your grandfather," Luka said, causing Nathan to look the older man over. Nathan waves shyly at Billy, not being as outgoing as he was when he was with Renesmee and Sarah. Nathan finally gets used to Billy's presence and leaves his mother's side to sit with Renesmee and Sarah to hear the old stories from Billy. Luka watches while thinking of the battle that would soon be at their doorstep. Luka worried about what would happen to Nathan if they failed and knew she had to come up with a plan for Nathan's future without them.
Once they were back home, and the kids were asleep. Luka and Rosalie meet with Micah. Micah was leaning against a tree and smiles when he sees Rosalie and Luka walking out from some trees. "Well, hello lovelies, I got your note. What did you want to talk about?" Micah asked. "I'm sure you know that our chances of surviving against the Volturi are slim," Luka said in a serious tone causing Micah to nod. "We might die, but Nathan still has a chance at a life, and that's why I must ask you to help me one more time," Rosalie said. "Rosie, you saved my life once. I will forever be in your debt. Whatever you need from me, I will do my best to give," Micah said sincerely. "If things begin to go bad with the Volturi, we want you to leave with our son and raise him as if he were your own. Rosalie trusts you with her life, and I trust her. That is why I am asking you to do this," Luka said. Micah was a bit surprised that Luka and Rosalie would trust him so much that they would choose him to protect their son. "It would be an honor to raise him, and I give you my word no harm will ever come to Nathan while he is in my care," Micah vowed. Luka and Rosalie felt relief knowing that Nathan would have a future. Even if Rosalie and Luka wouldn't be a part of it. A few days pass, and snow begins to fall. The vampires and Jacob have set up camp in the woods; Jacob and Luka bring some wood and drop it on the ground. Benjamin uses his powers to produce fire from his fingertips and throws it on the wood setting it on fire. "That's what I'm talkin' about—a little pre-battle bonfire. Telling war stories," Jacob said with a smile, then sits next to Benjamin and looks across the fire and sees the other vampires standing around the camp. "Or just standing there like frickin' statues," Jacob said, making Luka chuckle as she stood by the fire.
Suddenly Garrett appears sitting next to them by the fire, "I came this close to biting Custer. But the Indians got him first," Garrett said with a smirk. Kate appears sitting on top of Garrett's lap, "Try Oleg's assault on Constantinople. He didn't win that one on his own," Kate said. The Irish coven appears sitting across from them, "If you're talking battles, you're talking the Eleven Years' War. No one does rebellion like the Irish," Liam said. "You lost the Eleven Years' War," Garrett said in confusion. "Aye. But it was one hell of a rebellion," Liam said with a smile. Luka walks away, leaving them to their stories as she heads into the tent the kids were sleeping in. Bella laid with Renesmee and Sarah while Rosalie laid with Nathan, who was fast asleep snuggled against her side. Luka lays on the other side of Nathan and leans over, Kissing Rosalie softly, "I love you, and even if I had a second chance at this life, I would still choose you every time," Luka said with love as she looks into Rosalie's eyes. "You've given me the greatest gift in the world, my love, and I'll never be able to repay you, but I can tell you that even after death, I will forever love you," Rosalie said as she caresses Luka's cheek. "I love mom too," Nathan said sleepily as he rubs one eye, looking up at his mothers. Luka smiles and pulls out a little bracelet with a rose and white wolf hanging from it with Rosalie, Nathan, and Luka's initials carved on it. Luka slips the bracelet onto Nathan's wrist," And Mommy and I love you, my sweet boy," Luka said with a smile, then Kisses Nathan on the head. "Tomorrow, we're gonna need you to stay with Micah. No matter what. Even if we tell him that... That he has to take you somewhere far away," Rosalie said as she runs her fingers through Nathan's hair. Nathan's eyes fill with tears, but he puts on his bravest face and nods. Rosalie and Luka both hug Nathan holding him close between them.
