                          The Cullen's and their allies stood in a large, snow-covered field waiting for the Volturi to appear. Luka stood at Rosalie's side in her wolf form, with Nathan holding onto her leg and Micah at his side. "If we live through this, I'll follow you anywhere, woman," Garret said while looking at Kate. "Now you tell me," Kate said while shaking her head. Luka growls, smelling the Volturi's scents on the wind as they grow closer. "The Redcoats are coming! The Redcoats are coming!" Garret whispered as he bounces on his heels. Suddenly Aro and his army become visible, and it's clear that they outnumber the Cullens and their witnesses; Edward watches Aro as they walk towards them. "Aro's looking for Alice," Edward said as Aro and his army grow closer. The wolf packs emerge from the woods behind the Cullens and join them. Jacob, in his wolf form, moves to Bella's, Renesmee, Sarah, and Edward's side. Aro and his army stand in a line facing the Cullens and their witnesses; Carlisle walks forward. "Aro, let us discuss things as we used to. In a civilized manner," Carlisle said. "Fair words, Carlisle. But a little out of place, given the battalion you've assembled against us," Aro said. "I can promise you, that was never my intent. No laws have been broken," Carlisle said. "We see the children. Do not treat us as fools," Caius said in a distasteful tone. "They are not immortals! These witnesses can attest to that. Or you can look. See the flush of human blood in their cheeks," Carlisle said. "Artifice!" Caius said in anger. "I will collect every facet of the truth. But from someone more central to the story. Edward, as two of the children cling to your newborn mate, I assume you are involved," Aro said.

                           Edward looks at Bella, and Jacob then makes his way towards Aro; as Bella watches Edward, she tries to use her powers to shield him, but after a certain distance, her shield can no longer reach him. As Edwards reaches Aro, he extends his hand. Aro takes it and uses his power to read his thoughts and realizes that Renesmee, Sarah, and Nathan are not immortal children. "I'd like to meet them," Aro said, causing Edward to turn and look at Bella, Sarah, and Renesmee, then he looks at Rosalie and Nathan. Bella, Renesmee, Jacob, joined by Emmett, Luka, Rosalie Nathan, and Micah, walk towards Aro. "Ah. Young Bella. Immortality becomes you," Aro said with a smile, then suddenly shrieks with laughter as he hears the children's hearts beating. "I hear their strange hearts," Aro said in amazement as he looks down at the children before him. Aro holds out his hand, and Renesmee walks towards him, "Hello, Aro," Renesmee said, then touches Aro's cheek, using her powers on him, Aro becomes transfixed by what she shows him. "Magnifico! Half mortal, half immortal, half-werewolf. Conceived and carried by this newborn while she was still human," Aro said, then looks at Nathen. "And this one! Half immortal, half Werewolf. Conceived and carried by are dear Rosalie," Aro said in utter amazement. "Impossible!" Caius said in disbelief, causing Aro to turn and give him a stern look. "Do you think they fooled me, brother?" Aro said. Bella, Edward, Rosalie, Emmett, Micah, Nathan, Sarah, and Renesmee walk back to join the other witnesses. Jacob and Luka look at the Volturi and growl before following their family. "Bring the informer forward," Caius ordered, and the guard drag Irina towards Caius and Aro. "Are these the children you saw?" Caius asked. Irina looked at Renesmee, Sarah, and Nathan, "I'm not sure," Irina said. "Jane," Caius called on the smaller vampire. "They've changed. These children are bigger," Irina said. "Then your allegations were false," Caius said in anger. "The Cullens are innocent. I take full responsibility for my mistake. I'm sorry," Irina said as she looked at Bella and Rosalie. Edward sees that Irina is about to execute, "Caius, no!" Edward yelled.

                           Felix and another vampire then step forward and rip Irina's arms off. "Irina!" Tanya screams as she and Kate run to save their sister as Felix rips Irina's head off. Caius then sets fire to the rest of Irina's body as Garrett catches Kate and holds onto her tightly as she uses her power to electrocute him. Emmett and Grayson grab onto Tanya's arms, holding her still as Edward turns to Zafrina. "Blind them," Edward orders, and Garret turns Kate toward Zafrina, who uses her power to blind Kate and Tanya, stopping them from moving. "Give me my sight back!" Tanya ordered. "Tanya, this is what they want. If you attack now, we'll all die," Edward said, then looks at Zafrina. Zafrina stops blinding Kate and Tanya, who finally calmed down enough to be let go. Jane looks at Edward, "Pain," Jane said as she uses her power to bring Edward to his knees in pain, but Bella quickly covers Edward in her shield. Edward stands up and walks towards Bella, "It's working," Edward said. Bella smiles as Jane realizes her powers are useless against her shield, then Alec steps forward and tries to use his deadly vapor, but Aro stops him. "Aro, you see, there's no law broken here," Carlisle said, still hoping to end this peacefully. "Agreed. But does it then follow that there is no danger? For the first time in our history, humans pose a threat to our kind. Their modern technology has given birth to weapons that could destroy us. Maintaining our secret has never been more imperative. In such perilous times, only the known is safe. Only the known is tolerable. And we know nothing of what these children will become. Can we live with such uncertainty? Spare ourselves a fight today, only to die tomorrow," Aro said. Just then, two figures emerge from the nearby woods, "Ha!" Aro said in excitement. Edward realizes it's Alice and Jasper, "Alice," Edward said in surprise.
