Part 3- Monster on the Rooftop

I open my eyes and the first thing I see is Ray with his arms around me, still sleeping. I Immediately blush and rays eyes flutter open.

He quickly gets out of my bed apologizes. He grabs his clothes and goes to the bathroom to change.

I stretch and get changed. I go into the kitchen to pour some cereal.

I hear ray fidgeting with his backpack and putting on his shoes. "Uh, bye ray, see you tomorrow. I love the necklace. Thanks for, uh, helping me study." I say, hoping he can hear me.

"bye y/n. See you tomorrow"

And with that the door closes. That's was... Awkward. I hope its not like that tomorrow.

Ray POV

While I walk home I think about what happened. Did I really wake up in their bed, with them next to me? How long had they been awake? I hope not too long. I woke up with my arms around them, but I must've don't it in my sleep. I sigh and walk into my house.

Your POV

I step outside and ray is out there waiting for me, as usual. We don't say anything until ray speaks up.

"hey, um, I just wanted to say sorry for yesterday." He puts his hands in his pockets

"its totally fine, I had fun playing video games with you, and we make some good mac and cheese" I yawn.

"yeah."

"Hey guys" Norman waves at us.

"hey Norman." We say.

"hey everyone!" Emma runs out of the house next to Norman's. She tackles me and I hug her back.

...

Ray and I walk out of science with Norman and Emma waiting for us.

"Woah! I didn't notice you have a new necklace! Where did you get it?" Emma says excitedly. Ray looks it his shoes while I answer.

"uh, ray got it for me."

Norman looks at ray then at me. "Really?" Emma asks.

"so what if I got them a necklace"

"Because, ray, your just making it more obvious that you have a crush on y/n." Norman states. "I mean, there's nothing wrong with that. Me and Emma know, its just you two that are oblivious."

"uhh, lets get going, okay?" I say before ray starts something.

To the end of the week cuz I dunno what to do in the middle.

8:30

I sit on my bed, doing homework, when I get a notification. Its a message from Ray.

Meet me outside of your house in 15 minutes

Okay..?

I get dressed in black ripped jeans and red sweatshirt. I slip on my red converse and slip my phone in my pocket.

I turn off my Christmas lights and close my door. I pass my parents and sibling on the couch, watching a movie.

"bye everyone! I'm going out for a bit."

"Be back by 11:00!" Dad says (y'all we are gonna have a good relationship with our father just wait)

"okay" I say as I close the front door. I see ray standing on the sidewalk on front of my house and I run up to him.

He starts down the sidewalk and I out my arm around his shoulder. "So where are we going?"

"somewhere special"

"is Norman or Emma coming?"

"nope. Just us."

"ok"

We walk down the street, lights shining in our faces, when we come upon the gas station.

"this is your special place?" I ask as we walk in.

"uh, no, I just wanted to get a monster (yes he's that kind of person. He drinks a crap ton of monster but somehow doesn't die. you can't change my mind)"

"cool."

"do you want something?"

"I didn't bring any money, it's fine"

"I didn't ask if you had money. I asked if you wanted something"

I gasp "dude thanks!" I say while grabbing a monster after ray steps away from the cooler.

"no problem" we pay for our drinks and the the door chimes as we walk out.

"so where to now?"

"just follow me"

I follow him and we get to his house. We walk inside and I follow close behind ray.

"hi mom"

"hi rays mom"

"hi kids"

Rays mom is really pretty, though she looks tired most of the time. She has purple eyes and keeps her long brown hair in a tight bun. I've always thought she looked nice.

We walk up the stairs and ray opens his room. He also has lights strung around his room, a guitar in the corner, and a big window on the end of his room.

Rays climbs through his window and he looks back at me and holds out his hand. I give him a skeptical look before grabbing his hand. He pulls be through and we sit down on the roof.

"do you come out here a lot?"

"Not a lot. Not a little either."

We open our monsters and I take a sip. Ray looks at my can.

"what kind do you get"

"(favorite flavor)"

"oh, I've never had it." He grabs my can from my hand and takes a drink.

"uh, okay..." I grab his and take a drink. Its really good.

We set the cans down and ray looks at the moon. I look up too, its very bright. "Its really bright tonight, isn't it"

"hey y/n, um, I was just wondering"

"what?" I look at him.

he makes eye contact. "do you like me?"

"uh wha? Why?" I frantically ask.

He looks back at the moon. "because, I like you too, that is if you like me"

I look over the city. "really? Yeah, ray, I like you too"

Longer chapter, y'all don't know how hard it is for me to do longer chapter, but what has to be done has to be done. Jk jk 😂 ~Jake
